uhh

if it’s a 2nd they want its a bad deal for any team, I’d rather have our 2nd

by Chiefs3188 on Mar 5, 2010 4:23 PM CST reply actions

Yep

I could live with a third, much as I’d like to have it for the draft, but I want the 2nd’s to stay.

not done yet

* KC now has the best coaching staff in the league
* Pioli will make at least one trade in the offseason, and 2 trades during the draft
* I'd prefer "lightning and lightning" as opposed to "lightning and thunder" when it comes to RBs
* 9-7 is a real possibility in 2010 IF the Chiefs get 4 new starters
* keep Albert at LT, upgrade the positions that NEED upgrading.C, RG, NT, S, LB

Somehow I'm not surprised.

The Chiefs never try too hard going out and getting good FA’s. Oh well there’s always next years Free Agency… oh wait nvm

nope i think this comes down to our 3rd or balt's 2nd

we can offer the best deal in round 3 the ravens are going to have to give up there second to get him

hes missed 16 games over his entire career hardly injury prone

by dablueguy on Mar 5, 2010 4:28 PM CST reply actions

Agreed, we could def. use both

Would also give us more leverage in negotiations with Chambers.

by Nick Britt on Mar 5, 2010 4:33 PM CST up reply actions

If we got both(doubtful), Chambers would be out of the picture.

by dablueguy on Mar 5, 2010 4:46 PM CST up reply actions

damn

still nothing for us? what is going on?

Regardless of who the Chiefs pick at #5 overall, Whitlock will call it the worst pick in the history of the Chiefs. Heres to hoping that #5 pick runs Whitlock out of town.....

Pioli

is officially starting to piss my off, he definitely isn’t trying to hard to bring value to the Chiefs, by not resigning Chambers and not getting Boldin, I’m now jumping off the Pioli Train

by bh13 on Mar 5, 2010 4:38 PM CST up reply actions

Dont let the door hit a where the good lord split ya!

We dont need fairweather fans like you anyways.

Just because he does not want to give up a vaulable pick in the draft where he can get just a big of an impact player that is MUCH younger makes Pioli a “dumbass” Great logical thinking there. Glad that you are not the GM!

overpaying for Boldin

is NOT value

I’m all for Boldin as long as The Don does his thing and gets it for what we want to pay, but no more.

by Cowboynchrist on Mar 5, 2010 5:00 PM CST up reply actions

Let's see if this actually happens.

And if it does, wait to see what deal the Ravens give them before condemning Pioli

I doubt he’s giving up just to spite fans.. I really don’t want him giving a second rounder for Boldin… certainly nothing more than ONE of them

by wd123 on Mar 5, 2010 4:36 PM CST reply actions

This is what I'm talking about

taking the shit leftovers. Not getting the top players and getting the next best thing. This kind of mentality is what has led us to this many bad years. Very disappointed and frustrated. I hope that in the next few days we have better news

by ChiefsFanInTexas on Mar 5, 2010 4:36 PM CST reply actions

Depending on what the Ravens give up for him

they can have him. If it takes a 2nd to get him, that’s not something a team in the Chiefs position should be doing, even with two 2nd’s.

by bh13 on Mar 5, 2010 4:40 PM CST up reply actions

Well...

The Ravens...

are probably offering their 2nd and 5th. We win if we offer our 2b and 5c. Is Q worth that? I vote yes.

by ChiefsFanInTexas on Mar 5, 2010 4:38 PM CST reply actions

Pioli loves his seconds

at the table and in the draft!

by jrcnc on Mar 5, 2010 4:40 PM CST up reply actions

Because

For a team that has as many holes as the Chiefs, a 2nd should be a long term contributor, not a 30 year old WR.

by bh13 on Mar 5, 2010 4:42 PM CST up reply actions

Not at the expense of the future

We went 4-12 last year. We’re not magically going to become a playoff team this year. I understand it’s frustrating, but we need to be patient. Build through the draft, pick up key players here and there without hurting the future of the team.

by bh13 on Mar 5, 2010 4:44 PM CST up reply actions

That's actually not true.

We really could MAGICALLY become a playoff team. I’m picturing Pioli as a leprechan, granting wishes to Chiefs fans.

Per Ravens beat writer:
Ravens are looking into WR trade target Anquan Boldin’s medical history, Cardinals have released them, per a league source.

While Boldin would be an upgrade check this statement out from CNNSI.
When Boldin was out of the lineup with injuries the past two seasons, Arizona actually had a better record and higher receiving production without him.

by WesternChief on Mar 5, 2010 4:40 PM CST reply actions

and they have real WR depth

we don’t

Someone please phone Pioli on his cellphone....

He could be on vacation somewhere sunning himself with a margarita which is a worry :(…..Explain its the free agency I bet hes forgot!!
Explain we need to sign some quality players because we`ve sucked since Jan. 16, 1994 and its about time we actually pushed the boat out and spent some fricken money on QUALITY players instead of hoping we might draft 6 studs or unearth a team of gems from other teams misfits and castoffs :)

Please sign Kevin Walter and Thomas Jones and I will be happy :)
Hold on a minute….is Willie Parker a free agent too :)

by CHIEFS_FAN_ENGLAND on Mar 5, 2010 4:58 PM CST reply actions

No

He’s not going to Detroit.

by kcsno56 on Mar 5, 2010 5:05 PM CST up reply actions

Yea, I really think this is a done deal

King usually has his shit together unlike Chris “Shanahan to KC” Mortensen

by ChiefsFanInTexas on Mar 5, 2010 4:59 PM CST reply actions

Pioli should give up our 3rd rounder this year, and our

fourth rounder next year. Get it done, but don’t give up one of our seconds — not in this draft.

My $.02.

by WoodyardBBQ on Mar 5, 2010 5:02 PM CST reply actions

Is Boldin healthy?

You gotta consider he gets hurt alot. Plus He will be 30 in October!

by RC Indios on Mar 5, 2010 5:03 PM CST reply actions

I think its been a series of unfortunate events for him

he’s a fearless receiver so he’s taken some hard hits. Whatever team gets him next just hopes that he is not so unlikely as before.

by ChiefsFanInTexas on Mar 5, 2010 5:04 PM CST up reply actions

Boldin probably doesnt want to go to the Chiefs. Im guessing he could effectively block the trade by refusing to sign long term with them.

I

by AirNorval on Mar 5, 2010 5:05 PM CST reply actions

Believe he said he would be open to the idea… And an update Ravens offer looks like a 3rd and considering a late round pick in next years draft

by karkz86 on Mar 5, 2010 5:06 PM CST up reply actions

Boldin could easily block his trade to the Chiefs, because a longterm deal would have to be signed. No offense but Id rather go to the Ravens, plus he is from the east coast.

by AirNorval on Mar 5, 2010 5:09 PM CST up reply actions

no offense to you

but take your opinions and keep them on BTFB, ohh wait no one over there talking football? If you would rather talk Ravens then by all means go to their website AirNorval.

Regardless of who the Chiefs pick at #5 overall, Whitlock will call it the worst pick in the history of the Chiefs. Heres to hoping that #5 pick runs Whitlock out of town.....

by jrcnc on Mar 5, 2010 5:12 PM CST up reply actions

Yes he could block it but I believe not 100% correct but believe he said he wouldn’t mind coming to kc. Kc has decent options also one being he is used to haley, and the offensive system

by karkz86 on Mar 5, 2010 5:12 PM CST up reply actions

All of you saying bring in the impact free agent

Might want to become Redskins fans. Or better yet, start following the Raiders.

Big time signings are not the Pioli way, it’s just not gonna happen, unless he can get amazing value (see Randy Moss for 4th round pick).

He’s built championship to top tier competitive teams in the past with this system. Be patient, it will work.

by Your_Moms_Boyfriend on Mar 5, 2010 5:07 PM CST reply actions

I second this, especially considering the "impact"

of a wide receiver that has had injury issues. Not saying he’d have them here, just that I don’t think it’s fair to get pissed at anyone for not selling our team’s soul for Free Agents

As Chiefs fans we should know exactly where that lands you, evidenced by the twilight years of Peterson and Vermeil

by wd123 on Mar 5, 2010 5:08 PM CST up reply actions

It's hard to be patient

as you see other shitty teams becoming more optimistic about their team with big signings. But I guess you gotta trust Pioli in that he knows what he’s doing.

by ChiefsFanInTexas on Mar 5, 2010 5:13 PM CST up reply actions

Look how well those big signings have done historically for teams… I’d like a deal done also but at what cost. How much did big Albert help out the skins?

by karkz86 on Mar 5, 2010 5:16 PM CST up reply actions

I might be wrong

But wasn’t it Boldin that Haley butted heads with in the playoffs in Haleys last season in Arizona? I didn’t think their relationship was ever very good.

by ict_chief on Mar 5, 2010 5:10 PM CST reply actions

yes

but i get the feeling he respects him for getting in his face about screwing up and making him a better player

by TDubb on Mar 5, 2010 11:46 PM CST up reply actions

Don't give up on Pioli yet

Cassel trade was done on the saturday of free agency. He’ll do something soon and we can breath again.
