QB Brodie Croyle Says He'll Be Back With The Chiefs

Speaking on The Opening Drive on Jox 94.5 FM in Birmingham, Alabama, QB Brodie Croyle said he will return to the Kansas City Chiefs next season.

Star-divide

[I'm] getting ready for the whole free agency thing. I'm under that six-year thing, this uncapped year, that provides....whatever, it's very confusing to me.

Basically, I'll be in Kansas City next year, so that's always good.

Surprising? Not in the least bit.

Croyle probably still has some value so if the Chiefs aren't interested in keeping him, they can tender him at the original pick level (3rd round) and wait for offers. If they want to keep him, then they can assign a higher tender to ensure he's safe.

Even though Croyle expects to be back with the Chiefs, we're probably a long ways away from determining that. In addition, his return isn't really his choice. It's up to the Chiefs.

Here are a few other notes from his interview:

Definitely pays attention to who the Chiefs are targeting in the draft......Last year was the most comfortable he's felt in the NFL......Tebow is probably the best college football player he's ever seen (Editor's Note: They also share the same agent so take his comments for what it's worth).

It's weird how i still hold out hope for this kid.

I have a feeling he’s going to have a big push in training camp.

Agreed...

I feel the same way. Not sure why I like him so much, but glad to hear he is coming back.

I have played an excellent role as the needy bitch during my relationship with the Chiefs. I understand why some women never leave their dick boyfriends.

Ditto

I’ve always liked him for some reason, and that’s saying something considering I’m NOT a fan of the SEC and I AM a fan of Cassel.

i was always cheerin for him too.

I feel like hes the type of guy to be a good QB in practice but in a game he chokes. but thats just my opinion. I still think he’ll be our no. 2 QB this season

You're a goddamn quarterback! You know what that means? It's the top spot, kid. It's the guy who takes the fall. It's the guy everybody's looking at first - the leader of a team - who will support you when they understand you. Who will break their ribs and their noses and their necks for you, because they believe. 'Cause you make them believe. That's a quarterback.

Cassel can lead us.

I Like Croyle too

I just don’t think Brokey Croyle is durable enough to play 16 games. Routed for him since day 1 & i will continue to. I’m happy with him as #2

I never liked that nickname

his injuries just seemed like they were less a result of him being frail and more a product of piss-poor blocking and a string of some extremely bad luck.

yep

good arm, good ball, good accuracy, bad luck

Disagree

I might think that with 1 or 2 injuries but not after 4 or 5 or how ever many times he has been injured

If he gets traded.

It’s only because we got great compensation for him. I think he will be tendered for a #2 pick & if the Chiefs really want him, they will tender a #1 pick.
Bottom line is, there are a few teams in the NFL that are looking for a quality QB via the draft or trade or whatever & if they don’t get one. Well, you know that puts Brodie on their radar.
I think the kid has alot of talent. A gunslinger if you will, that makes quick decisions with a quick release. Think about it this way…
Lets just say he starts for a team & stays healthy through a season. His QB rating will be impressive to say the least. (probably higher than Cassel). All I’m really trying to say is we need Brodie for at least another year.

Scott Pioli's star will shine in 2010.
Win or lose, the Chiefs scare the bejesus of all opponents in 2010

That pic sums it up

He has never had time to throw! Love that pic. We need O-linemen. I could almost care less about the qb situation right now! Get me a guard and a center.!

I just want to go on record as saying

I’ll be back with the Chiefs again next year too.

This is my signature line. It is full of awesome and win.

Brodie is probably not going anywhere.

If they tender him it will be high enough to see if anyone shows interest at a high level. But most likely he will attempt to battle the starting spot away from Cassel this season.

I'm torn on

Brodie. Bad line or not, he made some pretty poor decisions as a starter. Remember, when he was starting, I recall everyone talking about how Thiggy was the “QBOTF” I think Brodie’s had some bad breaks, but I also think his durability is suspect. Honestly, I don’t think he’d be a starter anywhere but the CFL. IF he pulls a Rich Gannon, it won’t be until, like Rich, late in his career when he’s learned to be crafty. He’s a decent backup, but, I don’t think he gets kept as anything more than trade bait, and a compitent backup.
