So...
One mans trash truley is another man’s treasure?

They want to keep him.
That’s for sure. I don’t think any other teams would pay that price.
Charles to the 20... 10... TOUCHDOWN! KANSAS CITY!
Que the "Beating Dead Horse" picture.
My bold prediction and I think our best chance at moving down in the 1st. Bret Favre retires, Tavarris Jackson is not retained or leaves and the Vikings trade up, with our beloved Chiefs, for Jimmy Claussen.

who cares
once he gets comfortable there he will start acting up like he did here. If they dont get their program right this coming year the house is going to get cleaned, and when someone new comes in is when B.P. will start up again.
Regardless of who the Chiefs pick at #5 overall, Whitlock will call it the worst pick in the history of the Chiefs. Heres to hoping that #5 pick runs Whitlock out of town.....
Wow. 11 comments in a row...
Without someone saying how it was such a mistake to cut Pollard. That certainly must be a record.

He just fits the Tampa 2 better
Is why he’s doing so good in Houston.. Good for him though.. I’m glad he’s made a name for himself, I don’t wish failure on anyone.. Except you Norv Turner I hate you so much

Don't forget about LJ.

NFLN said LJ is a decent older FA RB pickup to some team this offseason!
that is when i shut it off last night, i was in shock.

Oh yup him too
and for some reason I really hate the Eagles.. I think it’s because they call for their best players’ heads if they don’t win the super bowl. Ungrateful fans

Pollard wouldn't have received that high of a tender
…had it not been for the uncapped season. Teams are far more likely to tender any player they see as being at all capable of starting, because overpaying a smidgen gives them better options in the draft and the rest of free agency than creating a hole at the position. Don’t forget that they can withdraw the tender or cut/trade the player.
I have beat wholesale ass for a whole lot less.
Only, he's a bit more to that team than "just capable of starting"
I mean, the guy came in and made plays. Yea, he gave up some too — but no more than the guy he replaced, I’m sure. And he improved the run defense and brought a whole lot of intensity in general.
Only reason we got rid of em because of all the jaw-jacking.

You're definitely right
But I’m saying that teams are a lot more likely to elevate their tender levels, or to offer guys who in past years wouldn’t have received tender at all, in this uncapped situation.

much more than jaw-jacking
Statistically, he was one of the absolute worst starting safeties in 2008. He improved his tackling in 2009, but was still a HUGE liability against the pass.

You'd have a difficult time arguing his replacement was any better.

Also true.
Which is why I’m not even going to bother.
But talent wasn’t the main reason he was released, and I think most here would agree. It was more an issue of attitude.

Brown was better against the pass, worse against the run
Brown’s 44% vs Pollard’s 75% completion against rate in 2009. 68 vs 88 QB rating against.
Not that i’m supporting Brown as a solution (should be a backup at best).

Pollard was THE main reason Houston’s run D went from Joke to excellent. He deserves credit for it, and he deserved the 1st round tender. Our mistake, and it was a mistake considering the trash(Mike Brown) that replaced him, was their gain.
excellent no, respectable yes

that's selling the rest of Houston's changes short
Brian Cushing, for just one example

And I fully believe that the added intensity Pollard brought to the Texans
Elevated Cushing’s game some.
