Interesting thought on a slow day . . . The St. Louis Rams are in the process of selling the team. Since the sale is not expected to be complete until late summer, will they want to sign a $70 million contract for the new owners and if so, could it possibly affect the sale?
Now, I know it would be a long-shot for the Rams to "pass" on the pick but it's worth discussion. This is probably the last year without a rookie wage scale and they are a long way from contending, so it might be in their best interest. However, the bigger issue may be the impact on WHO they draft at #1 since that could make the sale more palatable. Perhaps a safer offensive lineman versus the consensus QB or even the fan favorite, Suh? The sale of the Rams might have a bigger impact on the draft than you would think . . . Thoughts?
