I'm glad some fans got my back on this KU thing. I can go for MIZZOU but not KU. Can't do it. Sorry

hells yeah

F#%k KU

There’s nothing in this world that I hate more than Kansas

* KC now has the best coaching staff in the league
* 9-7 is a real possibility in 2010 IF the Chiefs get 4 new starters
* KC will NOT draft a LT in the first round, and the draft WILL be heavy on defense

I also grew up in the Waterloo/CF area. Good to see UNI push KU out. I kinda thought it would happen but wouldn’t have bet the house on it.

I'm as Kansan as I am Texan...

…and I grew up knowing KU players, hanging out with KU (and some KSU) fans, etc. I have no problem pulling for KU, even though Texas is my main college team. That said, even though I picked KU to make it to and lose in the tournament final, I essentially wrap up my office pool if KU loses this game. It would make me and one other person the only two who didn’t pick a team that has been eliminated, and we both picked Kentucky.

Maybe KCMO should change its damn name then.

And also, maybe the Chiefs should be required to stick to players from Missouri schools, then.

See? Not so fun.

I'm not sure what "1st home" means in my case

Where I lived on my own the first time? Kansas
Where I lived for the first time when I was out of college, and not in barracks? Texas
Where I lived once my wife moved in with me? Texas
Where I bought my first home? Maryland

I’m definitely a nomad, but I consider myself half-Kansan, half-Texan, and a resident of Maryland only for purposes of making a good living and keeping my kids out of the disastrous Texas public schools.

by Brsrkr on Mar 20, 2010 8:38 PM CDT up reply actions

Just maybe!

Damn, the basketball team really melted down. But if the floor for a Barnes-coached Texas is a fairly decent record, a short stay at #1-overall, and a #8 seed in the tourney, I can’t complain. They’ll be in great shape as these five-star recruits develop, since none of them are one-and-done.

As for baseball…they’re better than LSU, dammit.

Yeah, it's always about next year.

‘s why the draft is so popular. And recruiting season, especially around Texas I suppose. I got some hopes for Mike Anderson’s Tigers. Looks like he’s gonna stick around for awhile.

by Brsrkr on Mar 20, 2010 9:24 PM CDT up reply actions

Well, Texas has been in the last football and baseball finals

At least if one considers the post-season tournament to be the finals for the season, which is arguable of course.

They’ve been falling short of the finals in basketball, but then, so has everyone else in the Big 12, except Kansas.

Actually I'm currently living in Tarhell Country and I've met several folks here

that have absolutely no problem with Kansas. I met a guy from Michigan recently who said he was a Michigan St fan but would root for KU any day they weren’t playing a team from Michigan. To be completely honest, most people I’ve met outside of Kansas (I’ve lived in GA/CT/RI/NC) don’t really care about Kansas either way…and even less about Missouri and KState for that matter.

Bill is an excellent coach. So was Roy, and Larry.

KU always gets some of the best recruits. The inventor of the game coached there. Yet they’re not nearly as successful as UCLA, UK, Duke…and this year, Northern Iowa. Why? Cuz KU sucks.

Oh, and, Phog Allen’s from Missouri. So…you’re welcome, Kansas :)

lol...at least you give KU some respect...the inventor of the game not only coached at KU

by Christopher Clary on Mar 24, 2010 12:06 AM CDT up reply actions

You do realize you're only insulting your own team

by saying KU sucks…considering KU demolished MU twice this season. If KU sucks, what does that make MU? Complete garbage?

by SupremeChief on Mar 22, 2010 11:00 AM CDT reply actions

Well, there's a difference here.

MU surpassed expectations, especially given the injury to Justin Safford. They made it to the second round and played a more talented and motivated team.

KU just plain choked, and the world knows it.

Don’t think that our own loss is going to stop us from enjoying KU’s pain and anguish. It entertains us, and there’s nothing wrong with that. We know our team played badly, but in the end it was the Jayhawks literally crying on the court.
