Bills Coach Chan Gailey Signs A Former Chiefs DT

Buffalo Bills head coach Chan Gailey has reached back into familiar waters for their latest free agent.

Sort of.

Star-divide

Marlon Favorite, former Kansas City Chiefs defensive lineman, has been signed by the Bills, according to reports. Favorite wasn't with the team when Gailey was here (thus the "sort of" label).

Favorite spent several months on the Chiefs practice squad. He was signed in October of 2009 and released in December.

Favorite, if you'll recall, was one of the few choices remaining for the Chiefs to complete the all-LSU defensive line.

Favorite never made an impact with the Chiefs but the Bills are in a much more desperate position so if he makes it through camp he could see some time in the Bills new 3-4 defense.

Seriously? Wow…I didn’t realize that. My condolences to Buffalo fans, then.

Yeah those were my thoughts. :-) I’m thinking to myself “They’re starting Ron freakin’ Edwards and we’re taking their castoffs?” But at this point in the offseason, it’s not really anything to get animated about.

Yeah

I just meant the 3-4 part of it….Chiefs had a rough go at it last year and I suspect the Bills will as well.

Yeah. That was the crux of my argument against making the switch. Everyone uses the Packers to say how easy it was. I use the Chiefs. :-) Oh well.

Long term

Gotta’ think long term. Will we be better in the long run? I think…yes. But our D didn’t go to shit in a year….and it will take longer than a year to fix it. I don’t follow the Bills closely, but I have to think their situation must be similar. Patience. It will get there.

Hey…it’s no fun being at the bottom. But, what comes around…goes around.

I wish Chan the best of luck in Buffalo. I’d like to see them kick some ass. As long as they’re not playing us…why not?
