Chiefs Director Of College Scouting Showed Interest In MO State's Clay Harbor
I passed along word this morning that the Kansas City Chiefs would be represented at the Missouri State pro day this afternoon. What I did not pass along was that it was the Director of College Scouting Phil Emery that showed up and not just a scout.
Chris Steuber of Scout.com reports that Emery showed "considerable interest" in Clay Harbor.
Harbor is listed as a fullback on NFL Draft Scout but is more of a big tight end or h-back from what I can gather.
He's got some impressive Combine numbers showing up as a top performer in the forty yard dash, vertical jump, broad jump and twenty yard shuttle.
Also showing "considerable interest" in Harbor was Cleveland Browns tight ends coach Steve Hagan.
The full list of teams represented at the pro day, according to Steuber, are the Chicago Bears, Atlanta Falcons, Philadelphia Eagles, San Francisco 49ers, Denver Broncos, Carolina Panthers and Green Bay Packers.
Harbor must be on the Chiefs radar if the scouting director made his way down there. That and it's a lot closer than all the other pro days.

Way to go Clay Harbor
I would like to see this guy get drafted by us.
Are we the team to beat in 2010? I sure think so! Go Chiefs.
its say SMU on the mothership
Southern Methodist?

Thats a pretty impressive list of teams
especially at Missouri Southern.

Knowing Pioli
he will look to draft this guy he likes TE’s
"It doesn't matter what you do in Life only that you do it the best you can. "
I know he does
And I would put Weis and Crennel sitting on him to help him get over the TE addiction in the draft. With 8 picks in the top 150 players or there abouts let the TE addiction go. Wait for a good one to fall of a roster somewhere. Just my opinion :)

Well if the Eagles Take Harbor
does that mean they will let Rucker or
87 Celek, Brent TE 6-4 255 Cincinnati 4
88 Ingram, Cornelius TE 6-4 245 Florida 2
89 Rucker, Martin TE 6-5 255 Missouri 3
82 Smith, Alex (FA) TE 6-4 258 Stanford 6
someone else go?

It's also not out of the realm of possibility that they went there looking at someone
COMPLETELY different, and used Clay Harbor as a cover?!
Clay Harbor: “So you guys really think I have the skills to be a contributor to the Chiefs offense? I’ve been working out really hard and…………”
Chiefs Scout: “Yep, we think you are awesome….. Now tell us a little more about your girlfriend over there. What did you say her name was? Bambi?”
Fact. Bears eat beets. Bears. Beets. Battlestar Galactica.

it's nice to know our scouts look not only look for football players
but for cheerleaders as well.
Seriously mates, when have I ever been sarcastic?
Oh and in case you were wondering, that hug offer is still there when you are ready UC :p
I drove by there yesterday and thought about their guys at the combine.
Don't forget to be an AP-vangelist...Tell A Friend...
So...
are they going to go with one of these speedy, yet small H-back types like Hernandez and Dorin Dickerson? Or do they want a more traditional and complete TE like McCoy out of USC? Or do they want both? I think they are putting a lot of stock into this position. I wouldn’t be suprised to see one taken with the first 4 picks.
1. Suh will fall to us at 5
2. McClain will fall to us at 2a
3. The Chiefs will trade DJ and keep Dorsey
hey woodman
Springfieldian here….glad to see us represented

There was a player @ the pro day who didn’t go to mo state, but he did play for a div II team that beat mo state in 2008.
His name is Zach Watkins, he is an LB, 2 time all American. Started all 4 years @ Washburn, broke all time tackles record and was the longsnapper. 6ft, 230lb, 4.75 40, off the charts football IQ and work ethic. I guarantee he opened some eyes today. Chiefs should take a look.490 tackles @ any level is impressive, and not one bad snap in four years. Lots of upside and potential there.

Ahhh.... so we are looking for a long snapper and didn't want to use a private workout like some other teams.
It’s always fun to get local D2 guys.

Incorrect
he will have private workouts as well. Plus local workouts in his home city.
Unfortunately he wasn’t able to workout @ the pro day today because he did not play college ball in missouri, didn’t know that was a factor, learn something everyday.

"WIth the 5th pick in the 2010 NFL draft the Kansas City Chiefs select... Eric Berry Safety Tennesee... "
eric and sharper
what would be nice is if we picked up sharper and berry we have the $$$$ why not
I really hate to be that namedropper guy
but I know Clay personally and he is a really good guy. Definitely “right 53” material.
