Eagles release Kevin Curtis
KC under Pioli is always on the hunt for talent. Curtis is a speed merchant with injury concerns, but he would flourish as a slot receiver if he can stay healthy.
Worth a look for the Chiefs?

Jesus
Ive watched this guy play a lot (when hes healthy)…he’s not the Welker type. He is a down field threat, and thats it

The only thing he has in common with Welker is they both have bad knees.
Fact. Bears eat beets. Bears. Beets. Battlestar Galactica.
He's got some good hands from what I've seen.
And that’s something that the Chiefs need help with. Someone who can actually catch the ball. Especially in cold weather you guys have to take that into account. He is used to cold weather and some of our recievers last year wasn’t 100% immune to cold weather, (Wade spent his last few seasons playing and preparing for games in a dome, and chris chambers was good but the passes he dropped may have been caught if he was used to cold weather football not SD and Miami weather. The only problem I see with giving Curtis a shot in KC is he’s going to want more than Pioli will want to give $ wise for a player who is basically a posession reciever who doesn’t stretch the field and take defenders off of Chambers or Bowe. If he comes cheap it’ll be worth a look, but he probably won’t agree with KC’s opinion of CHEAP.
BY THE WAY...
I was looking at my depth chart on madden yesterday and we need help at WR BADDD lol
OMG.
No more castoffs please. We have enough. Every receiver released by another team in the past 9 months was going to flourish in KC. Please. Here is the perfect example of a guy that has had “potential” for years. Can we just draft our own receivers please?
I heard Otis Taylor was thinking of coming back…maybe we could put him in the slot and pair him with a walker, and geez, I think we’re in the Super Bowl!
Curtis filled his potential in Philly
And more.
He was expected to be a slot WR, and carried the offense for 2 years. Then the injury bug got him. If Pioli and & Co could get the right price and felt that his biggest issue was bad luck, I say go for it.
Any WR KC takes in the draft is coming in the later rounds. Most likely not going to contribute on anything but special teams.
You can’t tell me he isn’t an upgrade over Cooper, Urban and Long
Curtis is legit
I’m actually a life long Eagles fan who was converted to Chiefs about 10 years ago…I follow both teams…I would say that if they wouldn’t have gotten Jackson and Maclin this guy is their next best receiver…he is fast….he is a good possession receiver…if his heart and knees are still there after training camp…hes a value! What about Darren Howard? He is a great pass rusher can he play in a 3-4 OLB? I KNOW THEIR OLD…but Cmon we can get them cheap and they can help the drafted players right?
One of my all time favorite non chiefs
He has injury issues – but as a third receiver he could hold up better. I have followed his career since he was drafted and he is a flat out weapon when healthy. He was stuck behind in-their-primes Tory Holt and Isaac Bruce in St. Louis, but in Philly he’s been really good for McNabb.
Cassel needs weapons!
Curtis was the number one receiver in Philly in 2007, and was one of the best in the league. He doesn’t have the birth defect most of our receivers have, being born without hands, and I agree, that being a number 3, or even just a rotational player (depends on Urban, who we draft, etc.), will reduce the odds of injury. We know Pioli won’t overpay for the guy. Look at the bargains he has gotten so far. I believe in competition, and that it brings the best out in all players, so minimal risk, possible high reward. Cassel needs some dependable hands, that can move the chains. We lost a couple of games last season, due to dropped passes that were sure td’s, or stopped drives. Also, rookie receivers are generally slow to develop, more so, than most positions, so we need some immediate help until we can get some young guys the experience they need. We can’t have too many reliable receivers, in my opinion. If he doesn’t cut it, cut him!
There once was a man from Nantucket......Nevermind.
