Chiefs Check Out Missouri State Pro Day

The Kansas City Chiefs are taking advantage of the local pro days around the Kansas City area. Today they will be represented at the Missouri State pro day, according to the Missouri State official site.

Two senior Bears, Clay Harbor and Mike Daniels, will headline the local talent along with former Bear Kevaughn Brown. Additional student-athletes from Southwest Baptist, Washburn and other institutions are also slated to work out.

Other teams attending include the Saints, Falcons and Panthers.

I've been told Arrowhead Pride has a fairly solid MO State following so any of you Bears out there, let us know who can help the Chiefs.

Wow, we have left no stone unturned it seems

I don’t remember this from last year. It seems Pioli has really turned his scouts loose.

This makes me even more excited about the Draft.

Probably the same last year

The emergence of Twitter has changed everything.

so true...Its why I really believe we will hear nothing but "B.S" from teams from here on out.

more than usual that is…simply because this is a 3 day draft, and the way twitter/media is today…you can’t sneak anything by another team…unless you put out endless false rumors.

At the combine

Mizz State had a stud tight end.

The studs from the 2010 draft class will be: DT Ndamukong Suh, S Eric Berry, RB C.J. Spiller, RB Jahvid Best, WR Arrelious Benn, WR Golden Tate, WR Mardy Gilyard, OT Charles Brown, CB Kyle Wilson and S Chad Jones

i saw Harbor's name all over NFLN during the combine

He had the most bench press reps of any TE.

Are we the team to beat in 2010? I sure think so! Go Chiefs.

thats good

im originally from that area, and remember Mo State used to be Southwest Missouri State University and Jacki Stiles was the best womens college b-baller around. I hope we pick this guy up it would be nice to have a home grown talent on the roster for awhile!

Close to home down here in SOMO

hopefully he gets to represent the Chiefs !

This seems interesting

this site lists him as the #1 FULLBACK rather than a tight end. I’ve never seen him play so this is strictly speculation, but he seems like an ideal H-Back type player.

MO State Chiefs Fan!

I’m a MO State student and Clay Harbor is a rock solid TE, good pickup for the price I’m guessing

by bdom on Mar 19, 2010 12:00 PM CDT reply actions

I live in springfield

Harbor is a very good all over tight end. Has great upper body strengh which he showed at the combine and is a very solid blocker and has soft hands. If he were to have played at a bigger college he would receive more hype and probally be drafted higher. Wouldn’t mind the town kid playing for the Chiefs!

Just don't call it MIZZ State

Nothing against the Tigers. Just trying to create our own identity down here.

Regarding harbor, Soft hands… good strength. He’ll need to adapt to playing upper echelon talent. Doubt if he’ll be drafted. Would be a special teams demon, project at TE of H-back. Possible.

We are building a fighting force of extwaordinary magnitude.

On second thought

After reading the link above, it’s evident that teams are seriously looking at him. I wish him well, and think the Chiefs may take him at # 5 overall. :)

+1

I’m in graduate school here at MSU and Harbor is a really good TE, but he doesn’t fit the Chiefs. I would think the Chiefs would want a bigger TE for blocking. Then again, what do I know. BTW, MSU is not nor ever has been Mizz, that is MU.

I think Weis

is looking for a strong blocking TE in his offense

Harbor could be a good late round pick

He really stood out as one of the few quality players on the MSU team and his performance at the combine really helped his chances of getting drafted.
Plus John Goodman played for MSU, so there’s that.

Those combine numbers are good!

I wouldn’t mind drafting him later on!

Hi. My big board for KC's first rounder is:
1. Russell Okung, OT
2. Eric Berry, S
3. Rolondo McClain, ILB
4. Brian Bulaga, OT
5. Dan Williams, NT
Bye.

clay harbor is a stud

i’m from Springfield and have watched him and his stats…he will be a great TE in the league and maybe cheap since coming from smaller school…If he is available later, we need to jump on him

Missouri State Pro Day

Clay Harbor is listed as the #1 fullback on NFLScout.com and the Chiefs could probably use an upgrade @ FB. I understand he can also play TE, another place the Chiefs probably need an upgrade. Come to think of it, an H-Back like Harbor would be great for Haley’s/Weis’ tendencies to shift and motion. If was to guess the main reason for the Chiefs’ presence in Springfield, I would say it’s to check out Clay.

Yep very draftable

and someone the Chiefs could grab to finish off a solid 2010 Draft

After actually watching Clay play all year at MO State...

I’m a little baffled at the FB comments and listings. His posture and mechanics remind me SO much of TonyG it’s ridiculous. Even his style of catching the ball. I may eat my words next season but I truly believe this kid is a Mini-Tony in the making and I wish him the best with whomever picks him up…

by ahuts on Mar 19, 2010 5:47 PM CDT reply actions

If you've actually seen him play

I’ll take your word over any of these draft sites. 6’3’’ seems far too tall for a fullback, but maybe H-Back isnt out of the question…but I’m just speculating because I’ve never seen him play.

The studs from the 2010 draft class will be: DT Ndamukong Suh, S Eric Berry, RB C.J. Spiller, RB Jahvid Best, WR Arrelious Benn, WR Golden Tate, WR Mardy Gilyard, OT Charles Brown, CB Kyle Wilson and S Chad Jones
