Q&A with Chiefs WR Chandler Williams
Hey guys I recently ran into a chance to ask the Chiefs current WR Chandler Williams a couple of questions and I figured I would share with you what he had to say. Enjoy!
The Chiefs have been one of the more active teams in Free Agency so far are you excited about whats going on in Kansas City?
I'm very excited, I know that our organization will get players that they know will fit the scheme in which they are going to run.
What do you think about Charlie Weiss being the new Offensive Coordinator?
I love that Coach Weiss is the OC because I think he's a heck of a coach and I personally love the scheme that he has in his offense.
How are you planning on contributing for the Chiefs in 2010?
I plan on doin whatever I can to help win, but more specfically I can help in the return game, cover kicks and also help in the slot on offense. I really think I can help in the return game.
Are the Chiefs moving in the right direction?
Yes, I think we're going in the right direction from the OC to the DC and all the way acros the board.
Last Question what are you doing to get yourself ready for the 2010 season?
Well right now I'm in Miami training and waiting to head back to KC on the 24th. I'm running a lot of routes on air and many many cone drills. Getting my routes more crisp and working on quickness.

Minnesota Vikings
Williams was selected in the seventh round (233rd overall selection) of the 2007 NFL Draft by the Vikings. Williams was the second player in Florida International’s history to be selected in the NFL Draft. (Antwan Barnes was picked in the fourth round by the Baltimore Ravens). Williams was the second of the Vikings’ eight draft picks to sign a contract on May 30, 2007. He was cut by the Vikings after training camp in 2007.
[edit]Miami Dolphins
Williams was later signed to the practice squad of the Miami Dolphins, where he spent the entire season. He was re-signed in the 2008 offseason, but was waived on April 25.
[edit]Atlanta Falcons
Williams was signed by the Falcons on April 29, 2008. He was released by the Falcons during final cuts on August 30. On November 11, the Falcons re-signed him to their practice squad.
After spending the entire 2008 season on the practice squad, Williams was re-signed to a future contract on January 5, 2009. He was waived on September 4.
[edit]Kansas City Chiefs
Williams was signed to the Kansas City Chiefs’ practice squad on December 23, 2009. After his contract expired following the season, he was re-signed to a future contract on January 4, 2010.

I remember talking to some guys on the Falcons blog
they said he was a pretty good ST player and he has wheels. Sounds like he is trying to make the squad as a ST player as well
Then he's smart
Our ST unit was actually a bright spot last year. Hope he does well.

Buck 'o you didn't even mean to be funny there but you were.
Why is he smart? Because TT talked to some Falcons fans? I dont’ get it…lol…….nice dog!
He's smart to go for the ST angle
Anyone who makes you ask “Who?” had better work hard on ST to make the team.
My dog RULES! :)

Thanks for the interview, REC
* KC now has the best coaching staff in the league

Copper is a ST stud.
One of the best in the league last year. He’s not going anywhere.

May the best man win lol
If Williams can outplay Copper in STs then he has to be a hell of a special teamer. Im open to the competition though! Competition brings out the best in everyone :)

It's an interview with a member of our beloved Chiefs
Where’s the joke in that, exactly?
The Chiefs will see a return to respectability in 2010, emerging as the front runner in the AFC West! ....And I'll quantify that however I choose. Ahem.
Chandler Williams?
Is he really or did you just make up a name. Point is…nobody has ever heard of this dude. It’s “cool” I guess….I just see no point

Thats cool dude
If you can interview a more “popular” Chief let me know just though it would be nice to share. Regardless he plays for my Kansas City Chiefs and if he is willing to answer a few questions about them Im willing to listen. Last I knew he is an NFL Wr and knows a little more about whats going on then I do.
That all fine and good...
You do what you do….but as I recall you flamed some dude that “wasted” fanpost space by making a similar fanpost as someone else…I guess I just see this as a bigger waste of fanpost space considering you ask questions like “Are the Chiefs moving in the right direction?” and “What do you think about Charlie Weiss being the new Offensive Coordinator?” to a guy like Chandler Williams. I just really don’t see the point. But it’s cool, I guess we all know more about the Chiefs now. or something.

Its whatever dude
your opinion is your opinion. I didnt flame the dude I simply stated that someone had just made the exact same post and that he had admitted someone did and was all “oh well” about it.
The truth is
There is an actual rule stating not to double up posts. There is absolutey no rule stating that interviews must only be on “good players”. Plus, I thought he was really good on “Friends”

Funny you mention that...
I had a good friend that was fortunate enough to be her neighbor for two years. I’m just sad I wasn’t able to go visit LA while he was at that spot just outside of holly wood.
Prediction: With the #5 pick, the Kansas City Chiefs take someone we've never freakin` heard of...
It brings a player to our attention. All the rest had their 15 minutes, and this is more grist for the mill.
You never know. If the guy has wheels and wants to play ST, he may end up playing some emergency corner, for all we know. Never hurts to hear a few words from players with whom we’re unfamiliar. All the draft picks had their interviews last spring. I think we heard from close to everybody at one point or another.
i really like these Q&A's with Chief players from members of AP.
hope you can keep them up, good job Tomahawk and rec’d.
Regardless of who the Chiefs pick at #5 overall, Whitlock will call it the worst pick in the history of the Chiefs. Heres to hoping that #5 pick runs Whitlock out of town.....
No need to be rude, folks
this was a good interview of a current Chiefs player
I, for one, am really glad to read it.
If you’re not… skip it, but don’t insult the player and the author just because it’s not a “big name” guy
* KC now has the best coaching staff in the league
* 9-7 is a real possibility in 2010 IF the Chiefs get 4 new starters
* KC will NOT draft a LT in the first round, and the draft WILL be heavy on defense
Oh no doubt
If I didn’t say so earlier, nice post tomahawk. Keep up the good work brutha! I like knowing about the young hungry guys. I’d love more than anything for a guy like this to light it up and shock us all. They don’t have to be first round divas.

Nice interview tomahawk44.
If you do one of these interviews in person I would like to request that you take a picture of the player while he is rocking the AP gang hand symbol. Uh, we do have an AP gang hand symbol don’t we?
Yeah...but we beat the donkeys like a rented mule.
Years ago I thought 2.7 had invented one.
I thought he was flashing an arrowhead looking symbol in the end zone. I thought it was cool too. Turns out he was just symbolically sucking on some rappers balls.
Yeah...but we beat the donkeys like a rented mule.
The part that pisses me off is that he ruined a perfectly good AP gang hand symbol.
Yeah...but we beat the donkeys like a rented mule.
Maybe he's the solution to the return man.
I would simply love for him to be the next Dante Hall…
but a man can dream…
When you fail to prepare, you prepare to fail.
Who?
Hi. My big board for KC's first rounder is:
1. Russell Okung, OT
2. Eric Berry, S
3. Rolondo McClain, ILB
4. Brian Bulaga, OT
5. Dan Williams, NT
