Around SBN: Nevin Shapiro Vows To Bring Down Miami

Win your very own TEBOW TOONIE!!

Good morning Arrowhead Pride!

Hope everyone had a good St. Patricks Day! I appologize to those who are tired about hearing Tebow's name, I promise I will keep it short.

Tebow533_medium

Look. I'm not here to talk about my feelings about Tim Tebow, I think most of you know my stance. He had his proday yesterday and unleashed Tim Tebow v2.0. The Todd McShay's and Mike Mayock's of the world praised him and said he improved his draft status but in the same breath guys like Charlie Casserdly still concider him a 4th or 5th round prospect. My favourite quote was from Mike Mayock who said "From the Senior Bowl to now, the improvement is ridiculous I  was blown away."

I'm proposing a competition to see where/when he will be drafted.

Star-divide

Simply state the round and team who will select him and I will mail you a Canadian Toonie if you are correct. (Roughly valued at $1.99 USD (Exchange rates will vary).  Those that have never been to Canada (Shame on you) and don't know what a Toonie is, here is a picture:

Toonie_medium

Origins of the Toonie started several years ago when the Canadian Mint discontinued the One Dollar bill and issued a One Dollar coin with a picture of a Loon on it, and dubbed it a "Loonie". A couple years later when the $2 coin came out, it was obviously glossed a "Toonie". I voted for "Doubloonie" but lost badly. Loonies and Toonies are great in strip clubs but often weigh down your pockets. But I digress...

So if you think you know where he will be drafted, feel free to post below. I just ask that this doesn't turn into a "Bash Tebow" post. If you think he is a 6th rounder or UDFA, state why without using the words "CUZ HE SUXZ"

Thanks for playing,

Craig

My vote:

53rd overall to the New England Patriots.
Patriots have several 2nd round picks and can afford to take this “risk”
I think sitting and learning from Tom Brady for a couple years is exactly what he needs.

My vote:

Pick 41 overall to the Buffalo Bills. Chan will use him the same way he used Thiggy.

#5

Kansas City Chiefs j/k I think he is a lock for the Patriots or Vikings. Just dont know which round.

Regardless of who the Chiefs pick at #5 overall, Whitlock will call it the worst pick in the history of the Chiefs. Heres to hoping that #5 pick runs Whitlock out of town.....

Little later

I’m thinking 104 to Oakland. Tebow carries a lot of off the field baggage and is unproven taking a snap from center or ever holding his arms up. When he works out, his footwork looks like he’s playing Dance Dance Revolution. (Watch it sometime)

I see the Raiders biting first since they are in desperate need for a QB and would be most willing to ignore the celebrity status surrounding this guy.

Sorry guys, I just don’t see NE grabbing up this spotlight hog. And he’s not good enough to go in the early rounds.

But hey, what do I know :)

Now that I can focus again

I think the funniest part of the picture on the left is the girl in the bottom right staring up at the girl with a look on her face like she’s thinking “sit down you dumb b****”…which we all know means she’s really just jealous, and rightfully so.

I noticed that too. Shouldn’t this girl be in the student section?

2. McClain will fall to us at 2a
3. The Chiefs will trade DJ and keep Dorsey

In all seriousness, here's my stab at the offer in the original post:

Cleveland in the second round.

I really thought about a couple of teams in the first round, mostly focusing on teams that might be able to sit Tebow while he learns from a more accomplished QB. Philly looks like an ideal candidate, except that they’d only do it if they were to unload Kolb, and it wouldn’t make a lot of sense to trade away Kolb and then take Tebow with their first pick. Indy makes a lot of sense too. But I’m dropping him to the second round, where Cleveland will take him. Holmgren knows a lot about developing QBs, and will have coaches in place who can do it. Mangini isn’t the guy, but someone there will be.

I actually think he'll go 1st round

I could see a team like San Diego drafting him for whatever reason. A.J. Smith always seems to do unusual things on draft day.

The studs from the 2010 draft class will be: DT Ndamukong Suh, S Eric Berry, RB C.J. Spiller, RB Jahvid Best, WR Arrelious Benn, WR Golden Tate, WR Mardy Gilyard, OT Charles Brown, CB Kyle Wilson and S Chad Jones

by kc_radrh8r on Mar 18, 2010 12:38 PM CDT reply actions

I dont know how he does it

but he seems to have a knack of making things work. He was laughed at for trading so much to move up and draft Eric Weddle, but that move looks smart now. He even was questioned for drafting Jacob Hester as early as he did, and not to mention some unknown receiver in the 2nd round from I-AA Northern Colorado (Vincent Jackson)…although he did miss mightily on LSU WR Buster Davis.

3rd Round

I think he will go to the Patriots in the third. The Pats will use the first and seconds round for need and the third for a luxury with Tebow. They will use him as a wildcat option and to learn behind Brady, IMHO.

Loonies and Toonies are great in strip clubs but often weigh down your pockets.

So you tip with coins? Nice, and I got some ideas in regards to how they make change.Back in S. Korea they…….. uhm, make change for you without having any pockets (use your imagination)

As far as weighing down your pockets I guess you just need something strong to counteract the weight :)
….hmmmm, now that I think about it that comes out to about 1 and a half toonies for me.

My vote: Vikings select Tim Tebow with the 30th pick in the 1st round.

If he can continue to improve his throwing motion he could be very similar to Donovon McNabb, a former QB of Brad Childress, he fits the Minnesota Vikings’ lust for star players since the beginning of the Brad Childress era, and Brett Favre’s backups have a history of becoming stars in the NFL. The Vikings will develop their franchise QB (Tebow) the same way the Packers developed Aaron Rodgers.
