Around SBN: Four TCU Football Players Among 17 Arrested In Drug Ring

Dear Mr. Bill Williamson,

Bill Williamson had just an amazingly insightful blog post the other day.  Joel posted it the other day, but I wanted to look even more into his wonderful words of encouragement... shall we.

This has to be a nice sight for Kansas City fans -- University of Tennessee star safety Eric Berry running drills conducted by Chiefs defensive coordinator Romeo Crennel.

Crennel ran a drill at Berry’s pro day Wednesday in which Berry suffered a big toe injury. The initial reports are that the injury is not serious and it should not affect Berry’s draft status. Kansas City could easily take Berry if he is available at No. 5.

Don’t read too much into the fact that Crennel was running the drill. NFL coaches running pro-day drills are normal. However, it is relevant that Crennel was at the pro day. There are pro days all over the country. Kansas City sending Crennel to watch Berry up close shows the team’s interest in him.

Why thank you Mr. Bill Williamson.  Keep up the wonderful investigative journalism.  NOT.

After the skip I will post my response that I had to this article and then conduct a poll.  I love polls (insert comment from someone saying, "yeah, Eric Berry's")  ... no comment.

Star-divide

Okay… as a Chiefs fan I won’t look into the fact that our new Defense coordinator decided out of all the colleges in the country to go to he decided on heading out to the U of Tenn and RUN the practice for one of the top tier players that most of KC nation is obsessed with and could potentially be drafted by the Chiefs according to Kiper, McShay, and Lombardi.

I won’t look into the fact that somehow Romeo was the lucky one to get to run the drills for him. Even though other teams are waiting in line for this guy, it was Romeo who ran the show for him. I won’t look into that fact at all. That he probably had to drop some names just to make sure he was the one running the drill for an area in which we for sure need help in.

Are you f’n kidding me!?!?!

Hell ya I’m going to look into this. I much rather see a post that Romeo was working out Eric Berry then Charlie Weis was working out that OT from Iowa. I much rather hear the Romeo was working out the guy I want the Chiefs to get who is a blue-chip prospect compared to him working out Derrick Morgan or Jason Pierre-Paul or insert name.

This was tactical and this was intentional. Pioli and mob have been drawing up the big board and this guy as at the top. That’s why the first time we hear one of our Bigger name coaches doing a 1 on 1 work out w/ a guy was Romeo freakin’ Crennel working out my man crush Eric Berry.

The only logical explanation for this post by Bill Williamson was that Pioli put a gun to this guys head and told him to write a dang smoke screen blog post to throw off the rest of the teams around 2-7 in the draft.

…I think I am gong to now go take a bubble bath with Berry scented soap bubbles. This got me worked up.

+14 forever

What do you think of Bill Williamson's Post?
I want to roundhouse kick him in the face. This was awesome that Ro was working out the Berry. I am off to take a berry bubble bath too.

Sometimes when he says what he says, I wonder if BW even watches the Chiefs.

You think he would given his job title. But, he doesn’t seem to really have his finger on the pulse of the team.

All this man love is really, really disturbing.

Like, seriously.

Agreed

I think I professed man-love for Berry before pretty much everyone… cautiously

Please! No jinxes!

I won’t jump off a cliff if we don’t get him though. There’s a bunch of amazing prospect to be had at #5.

I agree Swim Coach.

Romeo had to miss the Bon Jovi concert because he was heading out to Berry’s pro day.

I’m reading a lot into this because of that.

I question mostly everything

a journalist writes. Very few write informative columns anymore. Other than the fact that they (meaning journalists) studied proper grammar, punctuation, adverb clauses, paranthetical references, etc. in college, they’re no different than most people who post something on here. They may write better, but that doesn’t automatically make them more informed on specific topics, which in this case is football.

The studs from the 2010 draft class will be: DT Ndamukong Suh, S Eric Berry, RB C.J. Spiller, RB Jahvid Best, WR Arrelious Benn, WR Golden Tate, WR Mardy Gilyard, OT Charles Brown, CB Kyle Wilson and S Chad Jones

Suprised nobodies already said this

we’re getting very good insight to Berry’s ability. Crennel working him out, Flowers working out with him, and I’m sure this is a guy our area scouts have been following very closely..

That said if he is on the board and we don’t draft him, you have to believe it’s for a good reason

I agree

not only does the pick make sense, but he is a playmaker we desperately need. He can change the whole mode on this D. Yes our D line could use improvement but those players can be picked in the later rounds. A safety is a BIG need for us, if we had a big player last year like him, we might have been 6-10 or 7-9. He is an impact player that the Chiefs have been starving for. We dont pick him, I wonder who Pioli sees as a bigger need/pick over this guy.
The man love is justified.

Winning isnt a matter of life and death, its more important than that.

by Pollard49 on Mar 18, 2010 2:02 PM CDT up reply actions

and

to add to that, people say he cant change our D from 30- to top 15. Sure he can, watch his film, his run support is just as good as his Pass D. He can blitz better, tackle better and cover better as well, compared to Mike Brown or McGraw. This kid keeps his mouth shut and does his job exceptionally well, and better than the majority of safeties.
Fact of the matter is, I feel more comfortable with this pick, its safe and an easy decision in my eyes.

Winning isnt a matter of life and death, its more important than that.

Not to mention...

Who was running Dan Williams drills? Heres a hint…it wasnt Crennel.

OK, I just have one question. It’s a fill in the blank. You know that it was Romeo’s decision to run Berry’s practice because ____________.

The fact that Romeo was there is telling. That’s it. All it means is that we are looking into Berry closely. It does not mean he will be the choice.

Actually it was Crennel's choice to stop his work out.

They're just trying to hide him from other teams.
