Romeo Crennel Runs The Eric Berry Workout In Tennessee

Before Romeo Crennel officially joined the Chiefs, he was a coach in the East-West Shrine game hopefully gleaning as much extra information as he can.

Crennel was put in a similar coaching situation as he was the man in charge of running the defensive back workouts at the Tennessee Pro Day, according to Jim Trotter of SI.com (via Larryemcdaniel).

Unfortunately for Eric Berry -- a defensive back and potential top-10 draft pick -- his workouts were cut short.

Eric says he stepped in what felt like a hole in the field. Felt a tingle in his toe. KC D-coord told him to shut it down and get it checked.

And with that, Berry's pro day was over.

Berry says he's disappointed with not finishing. Wanted to show his skills - again. He's now in sneakers. Says no official diagnosis yet.

There are other prospects the Chiefs are checking out but Berry's the one most of us are keeping an eye on.

Truth be told it would take a comet crashing into Arrowhead to disappoint me at this point...

Obviously I’m a Berry supporter, but I’m not going to flip out if Pioli drafts someone else.

Might as well hop on the band wagon Mr. J. Support the best player available that should be a Chief.

Honestly I wouldn't even be wearing it

If it weren’t for a certain moderator forcing me to change my avatar.

I tried to petition to Joel, but he explained that it was probably for the best (people that have to get banned have tried to use the well this guy has a picture of _ defense). So I am going to rock the Berry pic until the draft. It’s sad I know.

Yup...exactly.

Whoever we get with our first pick is going to be a damn good player. If it’s Berry, then fine. If it’s someone else? That’s fine too. It’s been a long, long time since I’ve felt 100% confident that our guys in charge know what they’re doing. So, I’ll just let ’em do it.

Definitely

I’m on the “anyone but Bulaga” bandwagon as well. He’s a fine player and all, but he’s not an elite top 5 talent. Anyone who takes him in the top ten is reaching specifically because of need. Last I checked the Chiefs already have a mid-1st round grade LT. Enough with the “Pioli and Ferentz are bosom-buddies” conspiracy theories already.

by CapsLockKey on Mar 17, 2010 4:07 PM CDT up reply actions

I can't imagine a scenario where Bulaga gets picked in the top 5 or 10 at all

And if it happens with a reach down…I will be sorely disappointed since there are actually quality players far ahead in positions of need…esp safety and there are several extremely good safeties in the draft this year who I wouldn’t mind us reaching down for.

Seriously?

The coach that sets up and directs each player on what they’re doing isn’t in a position to scout him? Interesting…

Hmm...

Sounds like turf toe. If it is, this could be a big problem over the course of his career.

I've been rapping for about seveteen years okay? I don't write my stuff anymore I just kick it from my head you know what I'm sayin? I can do that. No disrespect but that's how I am.

by soybon on Mar 17, 2010 6:39 PM CDT via mobile reply actions

has he had turf toe before? is there a history of him having issues with that in particular?

you are hereby assigned the job of investigating Berry’s past history, if any, with turf toe …

… also check on Bar-B-Q Elbow, something else that could be a negative influence on his play

I'll do my best, but you should know

that BBQ elbow has certainly hampered my NFL career…

1/2 lb of ribs
1/2 lb of pulled pork
1/4 lb of brisket
1/4 lb of sausage
6 slices of bread
heap of pickles and onions and jalapenos
easy…
