Chiefs Work Out Brandon Flowers' Former Teammate From Virginia Tech
I mentioned this morning that someone asked Virginia Tech safety Kam Chancellor how his workout with the Chiefs went. I assumed he met with Kansas City and now it's confirmed according to the National Football Post.
Chancellor worked out for the team on Tuesday. He's also scheduled to work out for the New England Patriots later this month.
He's 6'3", 226 pounds and was for a short while on the same team as Chiefs CB Brandon Flowers, who has said before he wants the Chiefs to take a hard look at Chancellor.
The quick rundown on Chancellor, according to NFP, is that he's a physical safety who can hit but is vulnerable when left out in space and asked to cover.
Check out more on Chancellor from NFP.

I like the VT defensive players
who played under Boomer they are so physically tough, not all of them have panned out but I did like Darryl Tapp, Jimmy Williams, DeAngelo Hall and, Flowers.
If we end up getting earl thomas by trading back in the draft, I think that this guy or Rolle would be a good addition for the Chiefs.
Number 47 is an outstanding special teams player but his role on the starting lineup did not pan out so well last year, especially on passing downs (ie when darren sproles burned him really bad)
In 47's defense...
Sproles burns EVERYONE “really bad”
I know that you're afraid... you're afraid of us. You're afraid of change. I don't know the future. I didn't come here to tell you how this is going to end. I came here to tell you how it's going to begin.
His height scares me
6’3" is tall for safety right? I could see him having hard time turning and covering as stated in above posting. I’m looking for a more fluid safety.

What Mr. J you haven't seen Chancellor do the rumba?
He’s got moves that makes Pollards HUMPTY splits look geriatric.
Opinions are like A--holes, everyones got one.

So basically he’s another Bernard Pollard?
that's what my interpretation was skillwise
However, we don’t know his attitude. Pollard was at least somewhat a victim of attitude right?
You sometimes learn something everyday.
This is why you lift all them weights. Parcells
Can this guy play linebacker or something
Because i know we dont like to have safeties who cant cover, reference pollard posts above. If he cant cover then he can not play safety in the nfl and we dont want him on our team end of story.

that was my thought
add 25 lbs to him and we have a ILB project probably can’t cover WR’s but should be good enough to cover TE’s
"It doesn't matter what you do in Life only that you do it the best you can. "
I thought about an OLB conversion
But with his ‘change of direction’ challenges, doesn’t sound promising.
Maybe in a later round
take a chance on him, but I have my eye on Berry. I dont know bunch about him but I do like adding players that current players played with and have a relationship with, it builds team Chemistry , and that is something we are lacking.
I had a class with this guy
seems nice enough. We called him Kam Chancellor: Touchdown Canceler
A man who says he can, and a man who says he can't are both right. Which one are you?
i like how the helmet is being
detached from that guys head, that is awesome.
Regardless of who the Chiefs pick at #5 overall, Whitlock will call it the worst pick in the history of the Chiefs. Heres to hoping that #5 pick runs Whitlock out of town.....
Didn't we just get rid of a SS that could hit but not cover?
I like this guy, but he is a 5th rounder for us…
I would rather have the other safety
Russ grimm’s son, for the life of me I can’t remember his name right now.
Cry Havoc! And let slip the Chiefs Defense of War!!!

One thing I don't like about Chancellor is his tackling form
He doesn’t have the knee-bend you want. Plays too high, hits too high. Arm tackles. When he does tackle, it is too high and poor form.
