I WANT Eric Berry, unless...
What if the first four picks of the 2010 NFL Draft play out this way:
Rams - Sam Bradford
Lions - Russell Okung
Bucs - Ndamukong Suh
Skins - Jimmy Clausen
Available at #5 = Gerald McCoy
If the scenario described below plays out and Gerald McCoy drops to #5, I think the Chiefs could trade down with Seattle for their second pick in the first round (#14), their second round pick (#40) and their 4th round pick (#102). Draft value chart says Chiefs #5 is worth 1700 points, Seattle’s #14 is worth 1100, #40 is worth 500 and #102 is worth 92 points.
Seattle would then draft Gerald McCoy and Bryan Bulaga back-to-back at #5 and #6 (Seattle fans would do the wave for a solid hour!) and the Chiefs draft the highest ranked player left on their draft board of these five at #14 – Dan Williams NT (my personal favorite of these – might go to Broncos at #11), Joe Haden CB, Rolando McClain ILB (might go to Broncos at #11), Earl Thomas S or Sean Weatherspoon OLB (notice ALL defense)
Pioli then has THREE second round picks (#4, #8 and #18 in second - just like Bill Belichick does it!) to fill in the other holes depending on the result of #14. Terrence Cody, Brandon Spikes, Maurkice Pouncey, Golden Tate, Jerry Hughes, Kyle Wilson, Nate Allen, Cam Thomas – Pick THREE.
We also pick up a high fourth round pick (like a high third due to the depth of this draft class) .
I think I could even live with the loss of Eric Berry in this scenario.
Thoughts?

Yes, I would take McCoy over Berry...
Unlikely it would happen but would be nice.
Jamaal Charles...Enough said.
You...
have the Skins taking Claussen so how is Seattle going to get him? Why would they trade up for McCoy when he will just fall to them at 6? If Seattle really wants a QB, I could see them trading up to Tampa for their 6th pick, 2nd rounder, and their 4th. Then, Suh could potentially fall to us if St. Louis and Detroit pass for Bradford and Okung.
1. Suh will fall to us at 5
2. McClain will fall to us at 2a
3. The Chiefs will trade DJ and keep Dorsey
Goodell's special "Double Draft Exemption" for some players ... allows them to be taken twice in the same round
… not that I see Seattle givng up BOTH 2nd AND 4th just to move up in 1st … I wouldn’t buy into those numbers that precisely: this is a pretty deep draft, so the later rounds are actually worth a bit MORE than those raw numbers would indicate
and there’s often more to be gained by having more warm bodies around even if they aren’t the “cream of the crop” *when you’re talking the 40th or even 100th player out of … how many seniors on all the teams?

hi, Mo!
5 minutes!!!
Oops, my bad
I meant Gerald McCoy and Bryan Bulaga to address their LT problem with Walter Jones retiring. Sorry for the mistake!
There is no way Seattle gives up that for McCoy.
In your scenario, he would fall to them unless you pick him. Which you will not.
i think if eric berry falls to 5
he needs to continue to fall to 6 or so on
McCoy can't play NT
He’s Dorsey and if they thought Dorsey could play NT he would be. I promise we won’t draft McCoy.

I totally agree with porkchop…
We’re not gunna draft McCoy (or Suh, for that matter!).
We’ll stay on task and get our 2-gapping NT in later rounds – period.

A trade with Seattle would be ideal, but no trades beyond the Cleveland pick UNLESS it involves another 1st round pick next year!

do it
and hope we have williams available

Wouldn't happen....
Seattle knows that the Chiefs would not pick McCoy at that spot, he is a 4-3 DT, so they would probably just select him at #6. Your trade scenario would then say that they were trading up for an offensive tackle that could possibly, unlikely though, fall to them at #14. Don’t see them giving up a one of their higher draft choices for an OT.
The trade with Seattle wouldn't be because we want McCoy, but rather to ensure that Seattle would get their guy
Because Cleveland might be trying to move into our spot to get a shot at McCoy.

Trade Down
Of course it would be great if someone wanted to trade up for our #5. But the likelihood of it happening is pretty small. Trading into the top 5 RARELY happens. So yeah, it would freaking cool if it happened and no doubt you do it. But don’t bet on it
