How many Chiefs fans are out there?

An estimated 106.5 million people watched this years Super Bowl. Assuming that all of them have a favorite team, how many do you think are Kansas City Chiefs fans?
We know that there are 32 teams. So I'll start by dividing 107 million by 32.
107,000,000/32 = 3,343,750 Are there that many Chiefs fans out there?
Despite what you may think, I believe there are more than that. How would we find out though for sure?
The first way I will look at it is a simple formula. I can say with certainty that wherever I am in the country that 1 in every 100 people I meet are Chiefs fans.
There are 307,006,550 people in the United States. So 307,006,550/100 = 3,070,065 That number is oddly close to the first number.
But are there really over 3 million Chiefs fans?
I realize this could be a Fanshot, but I was too lazy to swap it. I'm very curious to hear your responses.

Obviously there are more than seven fans. I don’t know if it’s realistic to divide the entire US population by 32 and say that there are that many Chiefs fans. KC is a pretty small market, and we haven’t been successful for a long time.
Do we have the most fans? No. Do we have the best fans? Abso-frzucking-lutely.

in the movies of the 90’s there were Chiefs gear all over so Mexico
Canada overseas added to US 3 million or so Chiefs fans.

There's gotta be more than 3 million, I know there's about 3 for sure die hard Chief fans in the Marianas Islands

As of 2007, there were 2,053,928 people in the KC Metro Area. Granted, they’re not all Chiefs fans. Some are ex-pats from other regions and some people simply choose not to be Chiefs fans. Likewise, there are Chiefs fans in other cities. There’s a bar in San Diego that caters to them specifically. Also, there are fans in other countries. I love Australian Rules football and when I’m on Australian message boards, I run into Chiefs fans there.
More importantly, it’s not just the KC Metro who are tuning in. The Chiefs have half of Kansas, half of Missouri, a great deal of Iowa and Nebraska. They’re big Chiefs fans in Montana and the Dakotas. Lot’s of Chiefs down in Arkansas and by virtue of them hating Texas football, we can also claim large batches of Oklahoma. You’ve heard of the Chiefs Kingdom, right? The Chiefs are millions strong. The census is this year. I’d like to see that added in to make it official that KC has the largest fan base in the NFL.
And Dallas calls themselves ’America’s Team.’ That’s a joke.
Square footage wise (if you can break it down like that)
We seem to have one of the largest fanbases. I wonder who Montana and Wyoming people cheer for?

I lived in Jackson Hole, WY
and they are either donks or seahawks fans there. That’s northwestern WY, so most of the state are probably donks fans.

Dont forget to include
fans in states without an NFL team. The majority of Nebraska, for example, seems to be either Chiefs, Broncos, Vikings or Bears fans (which makes me wonder why no St. Louis Rams fans since it’s fairly close). Also, South Dakota seems to be mostly Vikings territory but Kansas City is in fact the nearest AFC team to most of the state.
The studs from the 2010 draft class will be: DT Ndamukong Suh, S Eric Berry, RB C.J. Spiller, RB Jahvid Best, WR Arrelious Benn, WR Golden Tate, WR Mardy Gilyard, OT Charles Brown, CB Kyle Wilson and S Chad Jones

Chiefs fan my entire….when I met my brother in law few years back he and his brother were too. Good times after that. Actually going to my second Chiefs game ever when they visit Seattle this year. Once every eight years baby.
St. Louis-
Had fans here in Iowa when Warner was there, but once they started sucking, they moved on to the new team that was trendy.
In the 90’s, you couldn’t go anywhere without seeing Chiefs apparel…now not so much.
