What is Quinn's trade value?
1. Kansas City Chiefs
Skinny: Former Notre Dame head coach Charlie Weis is the offensive coordinator in Kansas City, and Quinn knows that system like the back of his hand. So Quinn wouldn't be bad insurance for Matt Cassel. Defensive coordinator Romeo Crennel also was Quinn's head coach in Cleveland.

I would love a QB depth chart
of Cassel, Quinn, & Croyle. Granted, if we made a move for Quinn it would most likely seal Croyle’s fate here in KC. Who may just end being a better QB than Cassel OR Quinn.

Croyle
I have always been a big Croyle supporter but we are dreaming to think he is anything but a backup with a strong arm
by groundedchevy on Mar 11, 2010 11:57 AM CST up reply actions
I think Croyle would be part of the trade
Maybe a three team trade with Arizona, send Croyle and a late rounder to the Cards, and let them send a rd 3 to Cleveland.
Pull the trigger!!!!

Weis was his college coach, Crennel was his pro coach and...
Shaun Smith was his teammate who cold cocked him
Pittsburg may show interest in Anderson
As an insurance policy to Big Ben, and his overly active genitals.
If we were to trade for Quinn...
I hope we are able to restructure his contract to that of a backup

If i remember correctly
Quinns contract isnt all that big. Its mostly incentive based pay. so if he sits on the bench he wouldnt cost much at all. With that said, NO THANKS!!!
Don't blame me, I voted for content of character.
by paratrooper on Mar 11, 2010 12:44 PM CST up reply actions
You could be right
But he did hold out for awhile, as I remember.
He was working out with Bowe, and we blamed him on Bowe not getting in here…
Yeah, and Kansas City's new nose
tackle Shaun Smith applied his fist to Brady’s chin when they played together.
I can't imagine
Quinn wants to come here and be a teammate of Smith again

I doubt something like that would happen again.

Is it even possible to trade Croyle straight up for Quinn?
Not that I want to, just asking. Brady’s contract would be a big issue too, he would definatly need to take a pay cut.
Fact. Bears eat beets. Bears. Beets. Battlestar Galactica.
Set up a package!
Not sure what it would take but, lets get Shaun Rogers and Quinn, give them Croyle and make a swap or something…I duno. I still believe in Quinn. Against the Chargers in week 12, he passed for 275, 3 td, 0 ints. He has potential.

How good is Quinn on the pro level?
The connections are there, big whoop. But is he a great NFL starter worth trading for?
He'd be a backup
I wouldn’t trade a high pick on him, but he definitely has some value.

Quinn ...not only no, but HELL NO!!!
So you think you are so important that no one can replace you? Put your finger in a bucket of water and pull it out. Does it leave a hole? Nope, just some ripples that eventually calm themselves!

I don't see Quinn coming here
Plus he sucks.. other than experience and a bigger contract, he’s not better than Brodie.
Why would we trade a draft pick that we could use on a position of need
for a crappy player at a position we’re fine at?

The key thing is this:
How would Shaun Smith feel about Quinn coming here? lol.
My sentiments are likely to be summed up with one of these 2 quotes:
"Shut the f--- up."- Matt Cassel
"WHAT THE F---?!?!"- Todd Haley

He might think Quinn is the punch our offense needs.

I agree ....
with those that say he would need to restructure his contract, and I’m not sure I would give away a very high draft pick. I would like to see him in KC if he comes cheap because I have to believe that his physical skills and familiarity with Weis would make for a good combination. I don’t really see it happening, though.
Haley has a bizarre mancrush on Croyle
So I dont think this is gonna happen.

Must have something to do with his boyish looks at southern drawl.

Quinn freakin sucks!
He’s an EAS Myoplex machine. He looks more like a pale guido than a QB. He has 35 more times muscle than talent.
I’d rather have Elvis Grbac.

Yeah...
for as shitty as Quinn is he sure does get a lot of endorsements.

Scott Pioli will find a way to make NT the biggest offseason priority.
KC Will Trade Derrick Johnson
CRAZY TRADE!!!!!
DJ and 2b for their 1 and Quinn…
1a.) Suh
1b.) Berry
Barf.
i love to dream.
Man crush on Eric Berry.
I remeber when.....
Carl Peterson said that Quinn was the best QB he had ever seen coming out of college. Isn’t that just classic Carl….I thank Jesus every day he is shit canned.
If a certain GM on the Browns…who is an excellent evaluator of QB talent….lets him go…we shouldn’t touch him with a 10 ft. pole.
From what I understand Quinn threw a lot of short passes in college to get his numbers up, but looses accuracy the deeper he throws. That can’t be taught.
I would really like to see Quinn get another starting shot on another team (or the Browns)…but I think it is a bad idea to do it here.
Croyle is an excellent 2nd QB…and if it aint broke (hehe brokie Croyle..snicker) don’t fix it.
Another QB experiment I am interested in is Brian Brohm over in Buffalo. I was a huge Brohm supporter a few years back and would love to see him have a break out year.
by MasterBlaster7 on Mar 11, 2010 12:50 PM CST reply actions
Yeah..
Carl probably wouldn’t of grabed him if the Browns didn’t trade up. Thank god they did because the next pick was D Bowe.

That pissed me off while watching the draft that year,
how the browns jumped ahead of us.
Not mad about it now though :)

Profootballtalk has something up on cassel...I just don't think its time, his contract is 3 years frontloaded not 2
Scott Pioli will find a way to make NT the biggest offseason priority.
KC Will Trade Derrick Johnson
I say we sign Quinn
and every time we’re about to send Shaun Smith out onto the field, Quinn can run up to him and give him a little pep talk. Then Smith will run out onto the field super pissed and jack some fools up.
Haha good idea

I just posted the article because it mentioned the Chiefs
It’s all straight from the article, not my opinion if it makes you feel better.
As for your post, if Quinn was released that would be an awesome signing!

The trade value on AP of Brodie Croyle
Is lightyears ahead of his real life trade value.
I’ve read any/everything from a 2nd round pick to a 3rd round pick.
Seneca Wallace only got Seattle a 6th, right?
Wallace > Croyle. Sorry folks, it’s true.
Oh...
And on Quinn.
If we can get him really cheap, I’m on board, but I’ve never been a believer.
I do think he’d be a better backup than Brodie, if he could avoid getting his face pounded by our new backup NT.
Boooo
Less QB talks and more QB protection. Seriously, don’t we have 4 QBs right now. Let Denver take him. Pass on the QB and let’s get some of our actual needs taken care of.
If we only try to get better at one position we'll be bad for a loooong time
You get better where you can, when you can. Can’t argue that he wouldn’t be better than 2 or 3 of our quarterbacks. I wouldn’t pay a high price for him though, since we could use a higher pick in a better way.

You people need to quit watching ESPN
Quinn was garbage in college, and he was garbage in the NFL. No way he would have been drafted that high if he didn’t play for Norte Dame. Seriously what has he ever done, to even make some of you want Pioli to bring him here.
+1
1. Suh will fall to us at 5

NO WAY!!
BRODIE HAS A WAY BETTER ARM, AND IS MORE ACCURATE THAN QUINN!! HE ONLY AVG. 56% COMPLETION WITH THE SHORT PASS PRO SYSTEM IN NOTRE DAME, AND EVEN WORSE IN CLEVELAND. CLAUSEN IS LIKE THE UPPER 60’S IN COMPLETION PERCENTAGE. THERE IS A HUGE REASON HE DOESN’T START FOR THE BROWN BAGS!!!! DON’T NEED HIM, DON’T WANT HIS CONTRACT, AND HE ISN’T GOING TO BE CONTENT WITH BEING A BACKUP..
-1
I am only saying this because I feel that both are probably the same. They both suck but are best at being back-up’s, where if the starter fails, the fans will always lean to the back-up and say " oh, well we would have won that if we started Brokie-Brady" IMHO

To answer the question that the post asks on what is his value.
Well to me, I would say that Brady is probably worth about the value of a… lets see here… Sammie Parker! Yeah I like that, maybe they will take a sack of wrenches straight up for him?
My take on Quinn in CLE...
A good QB whose WRs seemed relatively small in a league of big-n-tall’s. Flowers had no problems whatsoever in forcing them to the sideline, rePEATedly on the jam, so the 5-yard cushion QBs are supposed to get on the up-route was never there. Quinn was criticized for the missed passes, but it looked to me, in the one game I watched, that the CLE WR group was one of few that the KC secondary had no problems manhandling.
In other words, my (ill-informed) take is that Quinn is likely to be underrated, and may be a real steal.
I'm with you, Mills
He’s got some room to develop. He hasn’t reached his ceiling. Gotta remember that he made his debut in Cleveland. Who, besides Cribbs, has flourished there? And not a single person that leaves ever has anything good to say about the organization.
Add to all that the QB rotation he was in, who he was learning behind, piss-poor receivers…
It’s a horrible environment for any QB to be successful.

All we need is to pair Shawn Smith and Quinn up again
I think that’s worked well in the past…discuss.
Done
We decided an angry Shaun Smith would be a better NT :)

DO NOT WANT!!!
sorry bout the yellin but to me Brady Quinn is to QBs what Twilight is to movies. If he were cut maybe as a third, but Croyle, sadly, has shown more promise than quinn.
For those of you who haven't figured it out...
It’s a link to an article. I wasn’t asking that question personally.
What is it with the manlove for Croyle around here?
Let’s trade him while he’s still in one piece and ship him out in a box labeled “fragile”.
Yes, I'm still alive. Sorry to disappoint you.

"fragile"
nice, must be Italian
(name that movie)
* KC now has the best coaching staff in the league
* 9-7 is a real possibility in 2010 IF the Chiefs get 4 new starters
