Where The Chiefs Stand With Free Agency
Here we are nearly one week into free agency and while the Kansas City Chiefs have been active, they've stayed away from much of the star power in the early going of the new league year.
Here's a quick breakdown of where the Chiefs stand with restricted free agents, unrestricted free agents and other signings.

i totally forgot about our FB situation
should we re sign cox?
draft a new FB?
sign a new FB?
You're a goddamn quarterback! You know what that means? It's the top spot, kid. It's the guy who takes the fall. It's the guy everybody's looking at first - the leader of a team - who will support you when they understand you. Who will break their ribs and their noses and their necks for you, because they believe. 'Cause you make them believe. That's a quarterback.

Cassel can lead us.
my guess
they like Cox and Castille…
Cox could leave, and Castille would be the guy
IF they want a new FB… grab one as an UDFA
* KC now has the best coaching staff in the league
* 9-7 is a real possibility in 2010 IF the Chiefs get 4 new starters
* keep Albert at LT, upgrade the positions that NEED upgrading.C, RG, NT, S, LB
Wowo prematurely hit enter. But I hope to see Lilja next

Very glad to see Mike Brown and Bobby Wade unsigned
I hope it stays that way

If I had to choose...
Wade would be goner for sure. M Brown could have reserve value
Mr J

As a reserve thats fine.
Starter, please no

if we were to bring back wade, I would seriously be upset about it...I really really really did not like wade..
Scott Pioli will find a way to make NT the biggest offseason priority.
KC Will Trade Derrick Johnson
same hear
Cant catch, slow, argues too much with Haley, fair catches too many punts, and yea..I HATE THE GUY lol

I bet Wade IS gone....See Jerheme Urban!
So you think you are so important that no one can replace you? Put your finger in a bucket of water and pull it out. Does it leave a hole? Nope, just some ripples that eventually calm themselves!

T.O.??? N.O.

no...to both.
ESPECIALLY, T.O….thats just ridiculous in my opinion.

I'm pretty sure T.O. hates Haley.
And I’m not so sure the feeling isn’t mutual.
I figured I'd get a lot of this
And thinking about it again I think I have to agree lol…I have always been a Coles fan tho

Seems like at the time...
Haley told Jerry Jones he couldn’t coach a team with T.O. on it (Dallas)…and basically it’s him or me. Guess who stayed and who went?
I think that’s something about how it went…if I remember right.
That's what I'd heard too.
But it obviously didn’t last too long, as T.O. is now looking for yet another team after passing through Buffalo.
I’d say Jones learned his lesson, but I just can’t make myself do it.
I don't mind not signing the "high-profile" guys
We should add:
1. Tony Richardson- veteran mentor and a stellar FB. Would make TJ more comfortable and help develop JC.
2. Hank Fraley- Added depth on the OL, possibly competing for a starting spot. Would make up for the loss of Wade Smith.
3.Ben Watson- Competition at TE, and another decent target.
4. Casey Wiegmann- Bring him back. He’s old, but hasn’t missed a start and would be good competition if not a stop-gap starter/mentor for a drafted C.
5. Larry Foote- Yeah…not gonna happen, but would be nice to get an ILB.
6. William Gay- He’s goo in the Nickle and we could afford to give a 5th for him.
by LTownChiefsFan on Mar 11, 2010 12:28 PM CST reply actions
Rock Cartwright
He’s old too, but has a decent average on kick returns. could fill the void if no one else steps up. I REALLy don’t want JC returning kicks! Too risky!

After TJ I think we are set at RB for next season.

Agreed
Just wondering who’s returning kicks/punts.

still haven't heard anything on Fargas
I don’t expect a signing there…just haven’t heard anything.

Watson aint happening.
I think Urban will play the role of a “big” WR in this offense which would be Haley’s influence. Otherwise I think Pope is the man at TE.
Should never have let Ryan walk.

For the Love of God
Please NO MIKE BROWN. Seeing him get burned again and again last season was enough for me. If he is in the mix as a starter next season, it will be a travesty. No wheels, takes Horrible angles to the ball, and CAN NOT TACKLE.
by BucktheFroncos on Mar 11, 2010 12:37 PM CST reply actions
If you didn't like Mike Brown
you must want to see number 47 get hanged. This guy probably would clock in a 4,8 40 he was so slow last year, he was really good in run support but in passing situations he could not be any worst
by ChuckDiesel on Mar 11, 2010 12:39 PM CST up reply actions
Don't care for him
His only value to me is on ST. But at least McGraw was able to make a tackle once in awhile.

If DJ makes
the team next yr as a starter, Chiefs will have failed!
OH WELL shit!! Twice you say???? Well its too late to scrap Arrowhead Pride and start all over
Dang!! And I don’t have to time to fly back to KC now and fix this. God Da**it!!
I knew this would happen some day!!!

It's interesting
Both Croyle and DJ are controversial figures around these parts. To me it is interesting that there just doesn’t seem to be any smoke or noise around them at all which would seem to indicate no other teams value them. Right?

Maybe it's just that nobody wants to
spend a 1st rd pick for DJ
or a 2nd for Croyle

Someone
might be willing to take DJ for the right price. No way for a first, but NE’s 3rd 2nd rounder would be okay with me! I’d still like to us get Seymore and trade Dorsey for a 2nd… then trade down draft day and get another 2nd…so we’d have 5 total…damn day dreaming with happy endings!!!
Thomas Jones and the Lombardi, DO IT!
If healthy I don't know why they wouldn't keep him as the 3rd.
