me three!

I holpe he can catch. And the way things are going makes me think it will be a defense heavy draft…atleast I hope so!

I guess

Arizona didn’t appreciate that momentum changing fumble he had in the playoffs against NO.

by WtexKC on Mar 11, 2010 12:58 AM CST reply actions

he did have that bad fumble

but he doesnt fumble alot. fluke thing. 2 fumbles ever including that one

We got the long and short of Arizona backup WR’s with Lance Long and Urban. Both have looked good at times.

by dablueguy on Mar 11, 2010 1:00 AM CST reply actions

These are guys that Haley wanted for their upside and/or their work ethic, once, already.

I doubt there’s a ton of money invested in Urban, and from what I’ve seen of Haley so far, he’ll either catch on and make some real workmanlike receptions or he won’t last. Without knowing anything about Urban, looks like a good, solid roster-churning move.

So as of now, our WR's look like?

1. Bowe
2. Chambers
3. Long
4. Wade
5. Urban
5. Copper
6. Lawrence

I’m comfortable with Bowe and Chambers starting and any combination of the remaining four serving as the 4th & 5th receiver, but I dont see anyone among that group who screams out “solid slot receiver”. Lance Long may have the best chance, but I think most mid-round WRs could instantly step in and do better.

The studs from the 2010 draft class will be: DT Ndamukong Suh, S Eric Berry, RB C.J. Spiller, RB Jahvid Best, WR Arrelious Benn, WR Golden Tate, WR Mardy Gilyard, OT Charles Brown, CB Kyle Wilson and S Chad Jones

Sh!t

math was off…its late…should read any 2 of the remaining 5 guys.

depending on who we draft I could see wade in the slot too

I wonder

How does this affect our draft. He isnt the a big time player, but does fill a need as far as depth goes.

by Larryemcdaniel on Mar 11, 2010 1:56 AM CST reply actions

Well I say that

because yeah but who do you see us taking in the draft? you know what I forgot about freddie barnes I wouldn’t mind having him

I honestly see us taking

Tate or Gilyard. Both are versatile, and thats something KC covets.

Under Todd Haley, in 08

Urban had his best year. Contributed during that Super Bowl run

he

looks like he might be able to do something for us I mean on the last link matt leinert should have not thrown that but he caught it anyways but yo he’s not scared of contact either that’s good! he kinda looks like a tight end alittle

He played in AZ

But the emergence of Doucet and the instability of the oline greatly affected him. Also Wisenhunt calling the plays hurt him too.

If the Chiefs can somehow acquire extra picks

Id love to add Tate.Gilyard and Aaron Hernandez to our team. The offense would be seriously dangerous, including Charles and TJ

Bowe | Chambers | Tate | Urban | Hernandez
                                      or
                                  Gilyard

A good addition, but nothing to get too excited over

Definitely like the way our receiving corps is shaping up. Would have liked to get Kevin Walter, but Urban appears to be a similar player.

Now our receiving corps should look like this:
1. Bowe
2. Chambers
3. *Long (for now)
4. Urban
5. Lawrence (special teams)
6. Copper (special teams)

Now we just need a slot. I’m hoping for Golden Tate at 2a or Jacoby Ford in the 3rd-4th.

That catch vs Dallas

looks just like the catch Terrell Owens made as a 49er vs the Packers that is always replayed on NFL films.

I know nothing about Urban

but, it seems to me that if he can catch the fricking ball he’s got to be our 3rd best, at least. Hell, maybe second since Bowe can’t catch the ball. I think this year is make or break for Bowe. If he cannot get his head screwed on this year and start catching the ball consistently then we need to stop slotting him automatically into 1. I think he’s already down to 2 behind Chambers. Haley has got to be going crazy watching him play. So, yes, we should try to pick up a receiver somewhere in the draft if only to keep filling the tank for depth and potential.

Another incremental improvement.

Didn’r know much about him, did a little digging, one thing this guy can do is catch the football. Great 3rd down possession receiver, how many times did we need one of those last year? Easily our 3rd best receiver at this point.

by RamX21 on Mar 11, 2010 7:04 AM CST reply actions

We can't underestimate the value of adding this quality of depth

I would not be surprised if Urban beats out Bowe for the #2 spot if Bowe doesn’t learn how to catch between now and the beginning of the season, or the #1 spot if Chambers doesn’t learn how to block before the beginning of the season.

I would not be surprised if Haley has Bowe on the depth chart in camp

He’s done that before.

If Urban actually starts ahead of Bowe…we’re in real trouble.

This is still my favorite Bowe touchdown

it was his rookie year vs. the Bears…Tony G looks like he’s thinking “WTF! you just stole my touchdown!”

Still waiting for

Ben watson? Cassel would be comfortable with that addition I think. I agree with comment above. If we add picks I could see us drafting Gresham or Hernandez at te too. This offense could be loaded. Still waiting for protection for Cassel, TJones and JCharles though. Lilja and a young rookie center will be acceptable.

I can see us bringing in more WRs for compettion

i expect to see 1 or 2 receivers cut in training camp

You're a goddamn quarterback! You know what that means? It's the top spot, kid. It's the guy who takes the fall. It's the guy everybody's looking at first - the leader of a team - who will support you when they understand you. Who will break their ribs and their noses and their necks for you, because they believe. 'Cause you make them believe. That's a quarterback.

Cassel can lead us.
