These Players Could Interest The Chiefs In Free Agency

The Kansas City Chiefs are expected to once again be one of the more active teams in free agency. As we learned last year, though, "active" doesn't mean any big name players will be signed.

Here are five players I suspect will be discussed (a little or a lot) at One Arrowhead Drive in the coming week. Some likely have been already.

They're all big names and all will likely come with a big price tag so the chances of these happening probably aren't great.

Star-divide

1. RB Darren Sproles - The Chiefs are rumored to be interested in the soon-to-be free agent. Positives include his age (26) and versatility in the run and return game. Downsides include the possible price tag -- Redskins interested and could drive up the price -- and his size since the Chiefs were thought to be looking for a bigger back.

2. DE Julius Peppers - Again, I have no clue if the Chiefs will be interested. Last year at this time there were a lot of folks predicting the Chiefs would make a run at him if he were to hit the market. Now that he will be free this year, I suspect the Chiefs will take a peek.  Remember, the Chiefs were one of a few teams to show serious interest in Albert Haynesworth so if the player is right in their minds, I think they'll be willing to spend.

3. WR Anquan Boldin - The Cardinals seem willing to part ways with Boldin this offseason. He's not an unrestricted free agent so this would have to come via trade. If/when Boldin is moved, I don't think it'll happen until closer to draft day. The Cardinals can sit back and listen to offers until then.

4. S Antrel Rolle - The safety out of Arizona will test the market and will likely have some suitors considering he's one of the best defensive players available. The Chiefs have perceived needs at both safety positions so it will be interesting to see if he's part of the mix.

5. LB Karlos Dansby - His price tag may drive the Chiefs away. Nevertheless, he's arguably the best linebacker available in free agency as of now.

I would like to see Rolle brought in

and Brown given his walking papers. Page really could learn alot from Rolle. Sproles needs to be brought in and signed immediately. And hopefully Pioli has been calling the desert to see which Chief they want in a trade for Boldin.

Regardless of who the Chiefs pick at #5 overall, Whitlock will call it the worst pick in the history of the Chiefs. Heres to hoping that #5 pick runs Whitlock out of town.....

I say we trade our 2b pick

for Antrel Rolle and Anquan Boldin. They both would demand big contracts but the Cardinals would get compensation and relieve their salary problems. Plus Haley would get back some solid players that got the Cards to the Super Bowl. I would even consider using our 2a pick if Pioli and Haley were confident in these guys

you guys are on crack

if you think that we could get both Rolle and Boldin for our 2b pick. Sure I’d take it but it’s never gonna happen.

Or maybe you aren't watching the news

Rolle is probably going to be released and Boldin is supposedly getting top offers at a 3rd round pick currently. The only caveat in my deal is that it is now sounding like Arizona wants to release Rolle and then resign him to a different deal which means they wouldn’t want to trade him

we cant trade for both

if we acqure Rolle from AZ, we’ll have to pay him 12 million dollars this season!!!

Ok!!!!

I like this idea. Do we get Antrel rolle and Boldin from the Cards! Awesome. everyone keeps talking about how we keep dipping into the Patriots pool but this is interesting.
So, we wouldnt draft Berry then right?
Boldin for a 3rd! Then we dont have to draft either position! I would almost feel that our draft picks would be a luxury after signing those 2 guys! Wow! Get it done! I wouldnt even feel bad about drafting Dan williams or Bulaga in the first now. Then stud lb in the 2nd. Gosh, I’m excited! Spend that money on Rolle! Please.

im surprised at the Cardinals

after years of being bad, they put together a Superbowl run, and now the team is going to shambles. Warner is done, they are letting Dansby and Rolle walk, obviously they are trying to get something out of Boldin but come on, you fielded a decent team last year, try to keep it together.

Regardless of who the Chiefs pick at #5 overall, Whitlock will call it the worst pick in the history of the Chiefs. Heres to hoping that #5 pick runs Whitlock out of town.....

LET"S GO SHOPPIN'

I say sign Rolle. Wont have to spend for Eric Berry. I say make an offer for Boldin, IF he is willing to work for Mr. Hailey, again.. If Sproles is willing to come home, again… make an attempt. He would be a great addition. The defense would have to account for him, especially the secondary. I would spread him around the offense only. We should use our 1st pick on an OT or NT. The O-line should be pretty good with a good shuffle. The D’fense should be that much better with a good NT. I just dont see how we could lose here in the next few months. Way too many options for the Chiefs top brass, Mr. Pioli to play with. He’s going to bring something “good” to the table.
