Around SBN: Kentucky Football: Tee Martin Reportedly Leaving for USC

Should we draft Tebow?

I just love to see what that does to peoples blood pressure on here.  lmao

Anyways, I was going to name this post, “I’m worried about the Thorman Brothers”

With what we have been told lately, AP is still maintaining record breaking numbers on SBN and the internet concerning NFL blogs.  The Thorman boys are mostly responsible for this since they extended their invitation to all of us to come by and talk about our favorite subject.

In doing a little checking, I found out something that could be of interest to us and maybe a little concern.  Many of us have openly admitted to being AP addicts and check in everyday a few times or once an hour, whatever we can take time to do. Well as I have told you before, I have some down time during the day when I can sit around and think of stupid things and one happened to stop by and introduce itself to me today.

Does the Chiefs losing record have any direct correlation to the popularity of Arrowhead Pride? Frankly I don’t know, and I hope not. See that’s what worries me.  I enjoy the site so much that I actually just leave it on the computer every hour of the day and check in when I can.  I looked over at a few sites, like the Saints and Colts and not much going on as often as AP.  Seems like our only competition is Bolts from the Blue and with that team, I can see why! I would say, but don’t have the statistics, that we have something new posted a minimum of twice per hour, everyday.

That would be over 17,000 news items found and posted on AP each year. All because two brothers had the idea to start a news blog concerning their favorite team and choosing to share it with us.

So to get to my question finally, if the Chiefs become consistent winners and playoff participants, (hopefully we can win some) will the traffic on AP take a downward hit? I think the reason AP is so popular, is that we are always thinking of ways to help this team and would like to share them and garner each others opinions. But, if their isn’t much to fix, will there be much reason to check in as often?

I for one pledge that no matter what the record, I will always be an AP faithful. Besides there’s beer glove money to be had…..I just aint never seen any.

This is a FanPost and does not necessarily reflect the views of Arrowhead Pride's writers or editors. It does reflect the views of this particular fan though, which is as important as the views of Arrowhead Pride writers or editors.

There is no competition. They’ve had about 700,000 visits. In comparison, AP has had 6.1 million visits. Perhaps they’d get more traffic if it wasn’t being ran by the love child of Corky Thatcher and Bruno.

For being Canadian you sure know a lot about American television. Corky Thatcher is a homerun hit every time by my book. I’d sit on that one for future usage.

Maybe we need to draft someone this year to help

If AP is this good when the Chiefs are this bad

I suspect it’s only going to get busier.

A large part of the blowup of AP is the external links that lead people here from Google, SI, Yahoo, and PFT (among many others). You search anything Chiefs related in Google and AP is almost always on the frontpage results somewhere.

So full of sh*t that toilet bowls have to wipe.

by IISaiNtII on Feb 9, 2010 12:20 PM CST reply actions

Ya but

Busier does not necessarily equal better.
I think a big part of AP’s traffic is that its known networkwide that AP is the bees knees so other people come by to see what the big deal is.

I never said better :)

As far as comments and stuff go, that will almost certainly continue in a downhill slide. But I think the content that comes out to the frontpage will still be top-notch and only improve.

I was all ready to demand your banning Lanier.

Just for mentioning us drafting him. Good job with the fakeout.

It would take a drastic change, like the team moving or the Thorman’s completely selling out to really hurt this site I think. knocks on wood It’s the place to be, offseason or not.

Yah, I remember a time long long ago. Before anyone was here but me.

After I got here, there were millions of hits. Hey, I’m not bragging. I’m educating. I am just that popular. I expected maybe a few hundred thousand to follow me here, but MILLIONS?? Yikes. Ok, I’m sure that the Thormans had some little hand in it, but the facts don’t lie. Since I have been here, our member numbers have grown.

I am all set to receive my award. Tomahawk says all I have to do to claim my trophy is drive to this address he gave me in Compton, California. It’s a little weird I have to get there at 2 a.m. and stand under a street light with this T-shirt on that TT sent me in the mail.

Not sure what it means. Something about “the cause” and Mr. Crowley. It has a cute little cross burning on the back of the t-shirt. These kids are so creative these days. Well I’m off to meet my new friends from Compton. Wish me luck!

I prefer a less busy site populated by smarter and more knowledgeable fans.

One of the great things about AP is the vast, vast majority of people on here know their shit. There is honest disagreement but it’s a fun debate since both sides knows what they’re talking about.

I could barely come on here after the losses this season as so many idiots were ranting away. “Fire Haley this second! He yells!!” Since the season has ended most of them are gone. Which is nice.

And speaking of Tebow . . .

if he’s such a great character guy, shouldn’t he be saying, “I don’t care if I play QB or not. I just want to be my best and help a team win a championship regardless of what position I’m playing.”? This insisting on playing QB smacks of ego to me.

He should go to Canada. He stands a good chance at playing (backup) and the country already loves him.

Agree it's kinda bizarre

One of the smaller-market NFL teams has a giganto-blog of followers. Dunno why. Partly maybe b/c the team was pretty decent, record-wise, a few years ago, took a major nosedive and now has an overhauled management and coaching team.

Personally that’s the part that interests me the most: seeing a new group take over a historic franchise, try to turn it around— it’s gonna be very enjoyable to see how it works out. It’ll be fun to sit in the living room and watch the Chiefs win the SuperBowl again, like I did a million years ago when I was a kid, but once the rebuild is successful to that level….. maybe not so much. Disaster followed by overcoming adversity to rise triumphant is the easier sell, as opposed to continuing to do the same thing you’ve been doing for years.

Or a stable management team

The Colts are stable and excellent for a decade. Other teams are stable and lousy, such as our favorites, the Raiders. It’s more interesting when things get changed up, see if a new team can develop.

AP will only grow larger as the team gets better. This place would blow up if the Chiefs even made it to the playoffs.

We would crash SBN’s servers if we went to the Super Bowl. With that unfortunately comes the trolls and the bandwagon fans out of the woodwork.

Because of the title of the thread I feel the need to post the obligatory Tebow pic.

Yeah, let's just keep matriculatin' the ball down the field, boys! ...
