The Last Super Bowl MVP From Purdue Was A Chiefs Great
This isn't any groundbreaking news but something I found interesting.
Drew Brees of the New Orleans Saints won the Super Bowl MVP on Sunday. Brees is a product of Purdue and won his MVP exactly 40 years after the last Purdue quarterback won a Super Bowl MVP award.
That quarterback was...
Lenny 'The Cool' Dawson.
To make the connection even stronger, this is who presented the Lombardi Trophy to Brees and the rest of the Saints.

Pretty cool, huh?

Great observation
It is very cool. Nobody could have planned it this way. A very poignant situation indeed.
I’m sure Lenny was aware of Drews pedigree & probably mentioned the fact to Drew while congratualating him as well.
Oh, Drew Brees knows who Len Dawson is...
Purdue is nicknamed the “Cradle of Quarterbacks”. The surviving QBs meet once a year, kind of a “Skull n’ Bones” thing.
Len Dawson
Bob Griese
Dree Brees
Kyle Orton
Cecil Isbell
Dale Samuels
Bob DeMoss
Mike Phipps
Gary Danielson
Mark Herrmann
Scott Campbell
Jim Everett
Eric Hunter
Billy Dicken
.
i think Purdue QBs have thrown more touchdowns in the NFL, like, 1300 more than any other college.
