Chiefs Waive Two Linebackers

The Chiefs on Monday waived two linebackers the team announced.

Justin Rogers was on and off the 53 man roster throughout the season. He was signed a total of three times (the team will tell you two, but it was three) and played mostly special teams.

Weston Dacus was also waived. Way back in the offseason, the team announced that Dacus had been waived.

Then, at the end of training camp, he magically appeared back on the roster but under injured reserve. We never heard what happened but he was likely injured when originally released and placed on IR instead.

This is the first day of offseason cuts so we may have to wait until the start of the new league year on March 5th before anymore major roster moves occur.

Taking a look at the Chiefs outside linebackers shows that it's a fairly big need. Just three remain on the roster: Tamba Hali, Andy Studebaker and Pierre Walters.

i disagree

I think it would be smart to bring Vrabel back to help teach and coach the younger players

he's said

that he eventually wants to coach @ Ohio St., I hope he decides to cut his coaching teeth w’ the Chiefs instead!

I read the headline

and thought…oh GOSH, WHO!

then saw justin rogers’ name, and then Dacus, and realize….yeah, makes sense.

Vince Wilfork will be Scott Pioli's top offseason priority and will be a Chief.

Not much out there.

Dansby would be the “big catch” of FA.

KC needs to sign Vrabel, IMO…

THEN, either sign Dansby, or draft McClain

* KC now has the best coaching staff in the league
* Pioli will make at least one trade in the offseason, and 2 trades during the draft
* I'd prefer "lightning and lightning" as opposed to "lightning and thunder" when it comes to RBs
* 9-7 is a real possibility in 2010 IF the Chiefs get 4 new starters

Are you going to start a new draft thread? or let it ride?

Maybe Craig would repost his awesome Draft as the latest Mock thread this week?
