Cleveland Browns cut Donte' Stallworth
The Cleveland Browns wasted no time today in releasing wide receiver Donte' Stallworth, who was reinstated to the NFL upon the completion of the Super Bowl.
The team announced that they had terminated Stallworth's contract in an understated item on the official web site headlined, "Browns make roster move."

interesting
Not sure where I stand on this guy… I keep thinking he has the potential to be a star, but he hasn’t done much lately, and the drunk driving incident was pretty bad…
* KC now has the best coaching staff in the league
* Pioli will make at least one trade in the offseason, and 2 trades during the draft
* I'd prefer "lightning and lightning" as opposed to "lightning and thunder" when it comes to RBs
* 9-7 is a real possibility in 2010 IF the Chiefs get 4 new starters
He'd be a decent
- or #3 but I don’t think he’s better than Chambers.
yeh not sure where i stand
either……i think he deffinantly has more upside than chambers……i think hes 28 and could still contribute…..i think chambers best days are behind him but he can still deffiantly help this team out
No surprise
No matter what we think (and there are some strong opinions)…he completed the sentence given to him by our judicial system, and has been reinstated by the NFL.
It will be interesting to see who picks him up. Because you know someone will.
Funny, though. For all the hype that surrounds this guy, and the fact that so many people seem to consider him a good receiver…his career stats are not very impressive. He’s never had a 1,000 yard season. And 32 touchdowns over 7 years isn’t exactly tearing it up, either. So, I’m not sure why he’s generally considered to be so good.
Give him a chance
He is better than most of our receivers. Chambers gets paid to much and you could get this guy cheap so you could use the extra money to pick up some other FA.
Before that incident
there were no issues with Stallworth. The state gave him a very lenient deal because if it went to trial, there was no sure bet that they’d even win. The whole situation was never as cut and dry as Donte being drunk and running down some innocent person. He wasn’t legally drunk, the guy ran out into the road, it was late, etc. I personally wouldn’t have a huge issue with him from a character standpoint.
Now, does he have enough to add as a player to make it worth bringing him on? I’d be glad to have him as a 3rd/4th receiver, but I’d prefer to go after a Boldin/Breaston or try to trade down a few spots and grab Dez Bryant.
I'm officially on the 'Draft Eric Berry' train.
Haley-Crennel 2010.
i would get this guy there is nothing to lose
He will come cheap one thing about stallworth is that the guy has potential to b a great reciever. Maybe he can come to us give us a spark I’m down for this move he would help cassel big time.
