Chiefs at the Super Bowl
Was it just me, or was there a strong presence of the Kansas City Chiefs at the Super Bowl? First off, Brian Waters won the Walter Peyton Man of the Year Award prior to kickoff. Congratulations to Brian...a true class act. Secondly, at the end of the game, Len Dawson brought the Vince Lombardi Trophy to the middle of the field and gave it to Commissioner Roger Goodell.
Hopefully this is an omen that the Chiefs will make it to the playoffs soon and compete for the Vince Lombardi Trophy.
GO CHIEFS!!!

And
I didn’t see this but our Colts blogger tells me that there was a Chiefs video after the game…from the 60s or 70s he said.
Good info.
Thanks Joel!!!

The post game shots were wierd for me.
Just a little after the clock ran out they showed Fujita, then literally went to a shot of the lineman the Colts poached off of our practice squad. When Lenny presented the trophy I was beginning to wonder if it was an omen or something. A rediculous amount of Chiefs ties at an odd time.
I don't think Lilja was poached...
…Vermeil cut him. that was another major mistake of that era. Ryan Lilja should have NEVER left KC.
I'm just going off what I read here on AP.
I’d never heard of him before, that was long before I was as involved in the offseason as I am now, and I think during the period when I could hardly even watch the regular games becasue of where I was stationed.
Super Bowl = stranger's birthday party
It was nice to see a couple of Chiefs at the game, but for me, watching the Super Bowl has always been like going to a birthday party for a stranger, but you never have a birthday of your own, because the Chiefs are never in it.
It’s like this big hyped event for other people, and everyone you see is really into it, and I can understand why, but it just doesn’t mean much to me. And when the team that wins has already won a Super Bowl recently, it’s just that much worse. Like, didn’t we just throw a big party for this guy a few months ago, and we’re doing it again?
Then they interview someone from the winning team, it’s like someone making a long speech about the guest of honor at a big birthday party, only you don’t really know him and don’t get or care about the references and in-jokes they talk about.
And then you have to watch the guy open a bunch of nice presents from other people you don’t know, and listen to everyone else talk about what a great guy the birthday guy is, etc., etc.
It’s just like, yeah, yeah, he must be a nice guy, this is a nice enough party, I can see why you all are enjoying it, but it’s not really working for me.
I hate to be selfish or a downer, but I would like to have my own birthday party just one time before I friggin’ die of old age, all right?
