I hate to rain on the parade of all the draft day trade dreamers out there, but I don't believe anyone will trade to #5 with us for a quarterback. Most of the teams everyone is so convinced want a QB really don't, at least not bad enough to trade up to #5. Just for starters I'm convinced the Rams will take Sam Bradford at #1, the Redskins won't take a QB, and that Jimmy Clausen will be the only QB bait there at #5. I don't think the 6'2 5/8" QB is enough to pull a team down to #5, and even if Bradford does make it there as well, I still don't think teams trade up.
Let me explain.
Mike Singletary said just yesterday on NFL Network that Alex Smith is their guy and they need to give him some help.
NO 49'RS TRADE
Chan Gailey talked about how desperate Buffalo's need for tackle is and how he likes all three QB's on their roster.
NO BILLS TRADE
The Browns will start Quinn or Anderson, and even if they want to take a chance on a QB, they will wait and see if one makes it to 7.
NO BROWNS TRADE
Seattle will stick with Hassleback this year and are not going to move up one spot when they know KC dosn't want a QB and the chances of KC trading with anyone else are slim to none. Even if they do want to bring someone in to sit the bench for a year or two behind Hassleback, they will wait and see if he makes it to 6.
NO SEAHAWKS TRADE
The Vikings picked up Sage Rosenfels and John David Booty last year, in addition to Tarvaris Jackson, before they knew they were getting Brett Farve. These guys have now had another year to develop. They will go with one of them this year if Farve dosn't come back. And I think the Vikings are betting that he does, most hall of famers don't want to end their carreers with a pick.
NO VIKINGS TRADE
Sorry Chiefs fans.
