Two words ......Miles Austin

I didnt think that it would be possible, but the Cowboys didn't put the tag on Austin.  He just turned into the receiver I want the most.  He is one of the very few Cowboys players that I like.

Austin is only 25 years old, he is fast, strong, has good hands, and who knows better than we do that he is hard to bring down?

Someone correct me if Im wrong, but I believe that Haley Coached him for 1 year.

He caught for over 1300 yards and 11 TD.

Hey we put him on the map, so it is only right.  Feed back please.

True.

They didn’t franchise him because they don’t need to. He is going to stay in Dallas with a long-term contract.

Well lord knows he can play well in Arrowhead

I do think the odds of him coming here are pretty slim though

jerry will never let him go

even if they did, there are other teams out there that would throw more money than we would and overpay the guy.

by BJ Kissel on Feb 25, 2010 10:03 PM CST up reply actions

Yup

It’s not that I wouldn’t love having him. Just… no way in hell

Agreed

I would rather have a:Check 2 boxes option. Sign Bolden and draft J.Shipley.

by CPT.Caveman on Feb 25, 2010 10:33 PM CST up reply actions

Same goes for Bolden

I’d love to have him but I don’t see the Chiefs ponying up that big to get him. sigh…

According to a few sources.

Miami is offereing a fourth rounder for Boldin. I’d say he’s a lot easier to get than Miles Austin. And if we got J. Shipley, that would be a really good move on our part. Bowe would have to (rightly) scramble to keep his starting spot. If he stepped up, we could keep him around, if not, send him packing. No worries.

by BetterRedThanDead on Feb 27, 2010 6:47 PM CST up reply actions

Well hell

if a 4th rounder can take Bolden then we’d be stupid not to top that.

Agreed

Shipley is a comparable character to Austin and we could get him in the 2nd or 3rd round according to some people.

Did you know Jordan Shipley is roomates with one Colt McCoy?

Listen to the Caveman guys

When we drafted T.G, i told my buddy at work that he would be a pro-bowl TE and maybe even a Hall of famer, and he just laughed at me. I got a feeling about him and i have the same about J.Shipley. Now brian i on;y have one word for you http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cVJbX2sb2WY

I'm down

He’s got some intangibles and I think he’s gonna be special

by Buck'O on Feb 25, 2010 11:04 PM CST up reply actions

Yep, Shipley to me looks like the most polished receiver that has been in the draft in a few years.

I think we really miss a great receiver if we don’t pick him up.

My bold prediction and I think our best chance at moving down in the 1st. Bret Favre retires, Tavarris Jackson is not retained or leaves and the Vikings trade up, with our beloved Chiefs, for Jimmy Claussen.

Miles Austin is a RFA.

That’s why Dallas did not franchise him. He’ll probably be back, depending on the tender Dallas puts on him.

by ChiefsFan90s on Feb 25, 2010 10:56 PM CST reply actions

i said boldin

because it seems more realistic than austin

You're a goddamn quarterback! You know what that means? It's the top spot, kid. It's the guy who takes the fall. It's the guy everybody's looking at first - the leader of a team - who will support you when they understand you. Who will break their ribs and their noses and their necks for you, because they believe. 'Cause you make them believe. That's a quarterback.

Cassel can lead us.

Agree

Would love Austin if we could get him though.

by ChiefsFan90s on Feb 25, 2010 11:26 PM CST up reply actions

Hey, you guys are gonna let me dream right? :)

I alos think that Dallas would be stupid to let him go, but since he isnt franchised, there is a chance. Pioli’s pulled off bigger deals than this. There is also a rumor about Randy Moss going to Dallas. I would just love to see it happen. Im not sure about Boldin. He plays hard and is a good receiver, but he stays banged up. And drafting a receiver is always good, I just would rather have Austin.

by Enite on Feb 26, 2010 7:39 AM CST reply actions

To get Austin it would take a 1st and a 3rd.

I don’t care how good he is I don’t want to give up those picks for a single player.

by Helmets on Feb 26, 2010 8:51 AM CST reply actions

Yup, we are way too thin at ALL positions

to be trading away such high picks on a single player. Id rather just send a 3 for Boldin if we wanted a vet. Id really just like us to draft WR or maybe even two.

Don't blame me, I voted for content of character.

by paratrooper on Feb 26, 2010 9:09 AM CST up reply actions

Boldin

Bowe and Boldin would are brutal to take down…. throw in Freedie Barnes and Chambers and we have a pretty dang good WR group.

Also, I would love to see Golden Tate at 2a or 2b….. then we wouldn’t need Freddie Barnes

Man crush on Eric Berry.

by SwimCoach on Feb 26, 2010 9:12 AM CST reply actions

It would cost too much

You would have to give away valuable draft picks after they put the tender on him

by iachiefsfan on Feb 26, 2010 10:17 AM CST reply actions

yeah, but

he owes us a discount for the career development exposure opportunity that we gave him with our horrid defense. I still can’t believe he gained about 213 yards on two 5 yard screen passes.

Jerry Jones. There is no way Jerry is going to let this guy go. If he does, he will be crucified in Dallas. He already pulled another Joey Galloway type trade with Roy Williams. There is no way we get Miles Austin, so please stop dreaming. There’s no reason to get excited about something that cannot and will not happen.

by ChiefsFanInTexas on Feb 26, 2010 11:11 AM CST reply actions

Yeah

J.J is not afraid to spend money on good players, so he will be keeping his best WR, and their is no way he lets him go.

by CPT.Caveman on Feb 26, 2010 2:24 PM CST up reply actions

didnt he get 1100 of those yards at Arrowhed last year?

Winning begins with Attitude - Haley and Pioli will be winners in KC!

That's funny.....

I don't remember that game at all.

I'm sorry

I think that Austin is a bit over-hyped. Just because he had his best day ever against us last year is not a reason to believe that he is going places. I think he is similar to Dwayne Bowe and there is no need to have two of them on the same team. IMHO.

by Aiken_Drum on Feb 26, 2010 4:03 PM CST reply actions

Austin has another gear. His only issue is whether he can stay healthy or not. Held up fine in '09, but...

… I kinda doubt that he puts together multiple 16-game seasons. Always had the talent, though. Definitely root for the kid, but would not want to be the guy in the position of guaranteed money.
