I don't like either one but if I had to choose...... Claussen I guess.

He seems ready to roll, good or bad.

My bold prediction and I think our best chance at moving down in the 1st. Bret Favre retires, Tavarris Jackson is not retained or leaves and the Vikings trade up, with our beloved Chiefs, for Jimmy Claussen.

WRITE IT DOWN!

I don't care for either, buy I would have to take Clausen

He ran a pro-style offense in college and seems to have good accuracy. Before this year I would have said Bradford, hands down, but his injuries have left me wondering how resilient he would be in the NFL

What the world needs is more geniuses with humility, there are so few of us left.

Bradford

I think finance majors translate better at the NFL level than sociology ones.

Draft prediction top 10 - 1. Bradford 2. Suh (Chiefs trade up) 3. McCoy 4. Claussen (trade Campbell to Carolina, trade for J Brown) 5. Okung (Detroit) 6. Berry 7. Hayden 8. Campbell 9. Davis (Bills trade for Vick) 10. Morgan (Jags draft Tebow in 2nd round) 2/23/09

Seems to me like a finance major would worry more about his contract

I’d imagine the sociology major would be the better leader.

Well, I guess if he is really driven to be a failure, nothing will stand in his way.

Predictions:

1) Fans will feel just scads better from mid-to-end of the 2010 season.
2) During the 2021 season, Ryan Succop will become the Chiefs’ all-time leading scorer with 1469 points.

Hmmm

I guess it would be an incomplete sentence. To be valid, if would have to say, “I’m telling you, this kid is too driven to be a failure TO SUCCEED”. You win this time.

I have to be honest. I know zero about Tim Tebow. I havent' watched a college football game ever in my life.

I just have to laugh at the big Tebow debate that gets raging in here from time to time. LOL.
P.S. Mr. Craig I have a bit of trivia for you regarding sid vicious. Are you game?

Okay, just as the Sex Pistols were making their footprint on the international scene of music

they were recording an album in England. A singer from another band who was also there recording an album stopped to have a listen. This band was already a MAJOR mega world wide phenom at the time. After the set, the singer introduced himself and Sid simply replied “Aren’t you the fellow that brings opera to the masses”?
To which he replied “Oh and aren’t you Simon Ferocious”?

The band had a laugh at Sid’s expense who himself thought it to be a witty reply. They ended up hitting it off and the Pistols actually helped this band to compose their first, last and only song that could be considered “Punk”.

Name the band and the singer. GO!

Well from Sex Pistols official website
John/Simon became “Sid” through John Lydon’s pet hamster – who in turn was named after Pink Floyd’s Syd Barrett – Sid hated the name so Lydon would taunt him with it. The ironic “Vicious” came after the hamster tried to bite him: “Oh, your Sid is Vicious” and the Lou Reed song ‘Vicious’. “You’re so vicious…”

Craig. That's even more awesome. I had no idea about the hamster story.

I’m way more of a Queen fan than the Pistols but I love the Pistols too. Those were the days. Morrissey, The Smith’s. Oh don’t get me started. You and I will sit here and swap stories from the good days of music until we get banned lol.

Thanks Craig. That was fun man. I’ll talk to ya later buddy.

Ok Kray I'm gonna guess Freddie Mercury and Queen.

Based on some fame at the time and the quote about bringing opera to the masses. Never did find a link but this is my best guess. But I don’t know what song? Tie your mother down???

Nailed it Big Red. It was Queen and Freddie Mercury

the song they worked on together is called Sheer Heart Attack. It was a minor hit for Queen, but a cool success story for the Pistols and Queen.

Great guess. How did you get it?

by krayfish on Feb 24, 2010 4:24 PM CST up reply actions

Nice Trivia...

At first I was thinking that it might have been The New York Dolls and Johnny Thunder, but then was like they really never hit it big time.

Then I was thinking it might have been another band from their side of the lake, The Clash and Joe Strummer.

I’ll have to bring this bit of trivia to a friend of mine that is a MAJOR queen fan. I’m sure that she will nail it within a second, and say duh!

.

Go Chiefs!!!!

by ravenhawk on Feb 24, 2010 8:29 PM CST up reply actions

If you listen to sheer heart attack, you'll see the pistols influence for certain. No question about that.

Although, it’s still Queen and sounds like Queen all the way. But it was way out of the ordinary for Queen and Sheer Heart Attack. Especially given that Freddie had gone on record as saying that punk bands had no real talent. It was on the News of the World Album. Pistols were recording “Never mind the bollocks, here’s the sex pistols”.

Some versions of the story say that Johnny Rotten wanted to meet Queen and was a big fan. But I heard the real version from Queen themselves. If you have never listened to it. Look it up online and listen to it. It rocks.

Wikipedia has a little story about the incident too, but it’s not as detailed or as accurate. I’m impressed my man.

That album came out before the song. And yes I loved it too.

I loved every Queen album. Gone are the days fo real musicians.

by krayfish on Feb 24, 2010 7:00 PM CST up reply actions

Kray, I love that kind of shit. I'm a huge fan of sloothing....

…I think it is a forgotten art. In this case I was left with nothing more than a hunch based on the time at which the incident occured and what Sid said to Freddie about bringing the opera to the masses. This was a hard one. I can figure alot of stuff out if given time but in the end it just came down to an educated guess.

Also I’m a Queen fan, not as much as you obviously. Sounds like you know your stuff. I’m gonna have to pickup some of the other bands you guys are talking about. I’m a big fan of vintage (sounds better than old) music.

My bold prediction and I think our best chance at moving down in the 1st. Bret Favre retires, Tavarris Jackson is not retained or leaves and the Vikings trade up, with our beloved Chiefs, for Jimmy Claussen.

I think it really depends on who's picking....

If the Rams decide they need a QB then i think it’s Clausen. He’s run a pro style offense and has proven he can get the ball out quickly or take a pounding. If it’s the Redskins. I think They look and say Jason Campbell can probably give them a year to let Bradford learn a Pro-Style offense and improve his footwork.

by callmesir on Feb 23, 2010 10:33 PM CST reply actions

They're both good

I’m not sure a team will be let down by either one, but because Bradford has been pretty banged up I think I’d roll the dice on Claussen personally.

So full of sh*t that toilet bowls have to wipe.

Bradford

The two are pretty much even until you take their majors into consideration. This is where Bradford has the edge. While a finance degree isn’t ideal, it still beats sociology.

It is difficult enough to find a job in sociology, and even harder to find someone to listen to you once you have a job.
