Schefter: Top Four Teams In NFL Draft Have Talked Trades
Another day, another report of a team picking high in the 2010 NFL Draft looking to trade back. According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, the top four teams are looking to move back.
Each of the teams picking in the top four come late April -- St. Louis, Detroit, Tampa Bay and Washington -- has discussed trading its pick and moving out of its spot, multiple NFL sources said Tuesday.
Missing from that list is the team picking 5th: Kansas City Chiefs.
It's possible the Chiefs haven't discussed a trade down....but it's also possible (maybe even likely) that Arrowhead is tighter than Fort Knox these days and the information just hasn't come out.
Schefter also cites sources that indicate it's possible quarterbacks Sam Bradford and Jimmy Clausen could go higher than anticipated causing some team to trade up to get them.

Top 5 pick
all picks in the top 5 are so hard to get rid of. Those guys want so much $$$ & 1 or 2 out of the 5 are worth a crap. We can only hope someone falls deeply in love with a player to give up next years 1st and/or this years 2nd & this years 1st. we are stuck. pray for Berry or Mclain to be sitting there or a QB & only move back 2 or 3 spots. God i love the draft

Going to be an interesting pre-draft
period. So much speculation and too much time for more of the same. I do agree that Bradford goes pretty high in the draft. It should not surprise anyone if he ends up with Denver. Would not have to play right away if not ready and would eventually replace Orton.
I hate the thought of trading with the donkeys, but we could get Marshall out of it.
that would be awesome but trading with rivals rarely happens. Aw a boy can dream

yeah...I am not a fan of a bad attitude...
but for marshall…if we were to get marshall and sign vince wilfork….I mean…that would be absolutely amazing…but a more realistic WR is probably boldin.
Vince Wilfork will be Scott Pioli's top offseason priority and will be a Chief.
KC Will Trade Derrick Johnson=
i doubt Marshall would bring his attitude here
Haley, Weis, and Crennel would get that out of him. He wouldnt bring it here because he would be the talk of the town.
Regardless of who the Chiefs pick at #5 overall, Whitlock will call it the worst pick in the history of the Chiefs. Heres to hoping that #5 pick runs Whitlock out of town.....
I still think the possible trading is more SUH and McCoy related than QB related.
My bold prediction and I think our best chance at moving down in the 1st. Bret Favre retires, Tavarris Jackson is not retained or leaves and the Vikings trade up, with our beloved Chiefs, for Jimmy Claussen.
WRITE IT DOWN!
of course they want to trade down
there’s no salary floor this year… lower picks = more $$$ in the owners pocket

Any talk about the other side of the coin?
Which teams are talking about trading up, and how many are there?
If $$$ is an issue for trading up, #5 might be a little more tempting than 1-4, not so?
Needs for 2010:
O-line
D-line
Linebacker
Safety

Lots of smoke and mirrors here, men.
Should be extremely interesting come those first few picks on draft day. I vote for the Chiefs getting the prize choice of the top five picks.
did you see this quote?
Then there’s the outdated chart that assigns a point value to draft picks. Last year, the Chiefs tried to trade the third overall pick to the Lions in exchange for the 20th overall pick and the first pick in round two. The proposed swap created a gap of 770 points based on the chart — and the Lions still said no.
That goes to show you that Pioli is willing to deal, and willing to deviate from the “chart” when it comes to value…
I would have been happy with that trade last year, or this year
* KC now has the best coaching staff in the league
* Pioli will make at least one trade in the offseason, and 2 trades during the draft
* I'd prefer "lightning and lightning" as opposed to "lightning and thunder" when it comes to RBs
* 9-7 is a real possibility in 2010 IF the Chiefs get 4 new starters
* keep Albert at LT, upgrade the positions that NEED upgrading.C, RG, NT, S, LB
Yeah, Pioli isn't affraid to give someone a "bargin".(wink wink wink wink, I think something is in my eye.)

That fascinated me too
I wondered if he was gambling on TJ still being on the board @ 20 and who else he had his eye on with the 1st pick of the 2nd round?

Detroit is in no position to be trading away picks...they're in the same boat as us.
Especially a great value pick like a high 2nd rounder. There was no way they were going to do that.
I still think we are in prime postion to do some trading. I don’t think Bradford AND Claussen will both be gone in the top 5. Suh will be gone by #2 and I hardly think Berry, Okung, and McCoy will still be available when we pick. I think Detroit will take Suh and the Rams will take Bradford. Tampa will probably take McCoy and Washington will take Okung.
I think Claussen, Berry, and Mclain will still be on the board when we pick. There will very likely be a team who wants to leapfrog Seattle to get a shot at Claussen. If not, we can draft Eric Berry and all will be good.
BTW
I know I contradicted myself a little there…I was working it out in my head as I was writing.
:-)
Trade Dorsey and Page for the 2nd pick then
Take McCoy at #2 and then either take Berry at #5 or trade the 5th pick with either Buffalo at #9 and take WR Dez Bryant or with Cincy at 21st pick and take S Taylor Mays or with Dallas at #27 and take G Mike Iupeti.

That's what I'm talking about.
All this talk of trading back…lets go the other way and trade up. That would put everyones projections out of wack.
