Around SBN: Tottenham's Plans for Northumberland Stadium Approved

Over at Hogs Haven the guys are talking NFL draft with SB Nation's draft expert Dan Kadar. When asked of the likelihood that Washington could find a trading partner in the first round Kadar replied,

"Sadly, probably not. The Redskins are in a tough spot. The biggest hurdle is the money issue. Not many teams will want to move up and pay that huge guaranteed contract. But if a team were to move up, it would be to leapfrog Kansas City. Odds sure seem like the Chiefs will take either Rolando McClain or Eric Berry. While I really like both, I don't see a lot of teams trading up for a linebacker or safety."

If KC found a trading partner that team would be leapfrogging Seattle. It is quite possible Seattle would draft a QB with that first pick so the Chiefs could be sitting in a prime trading spot...thoughts?

Last year,

the Jets traded up for Sanchez, maybe this year it will be for Clausen or Bradford.

I really hope we get to trade down

I really like Berry, but I am not tied to him and other talent like McClain and Haden will be there later in the 1st round (perhaps even Berry depending on how things shake out). We could pick up an additional pick and still get the guy we want for less. That looks like a win win to me.

yep, don't get me wrong, it would initially hurt like the tony G pick did

but since we all know this isnt going to get fixed from one more draft, I am all for stacking picks in this and next year’s drafts…I just hope we can nab an extra 2nd in this draft

Vince Wilfork will be Scott Pioli's top offseason priority and will be a Chief.

Next years picks

any picks for next year are going to sit for at least 1 or 2 years. 2011 is going to be a strike year you can count on it. We will be lucky to play 12 games that year.

ok...my thoughts

I am all for Berry or Mcclain…

that said….my number one option…trade back….Obviously Vince Wilfork is a dream of mine, but I also am not niave, its a LOW chance of happening, and thats ok, but if we don’t sign a dominant NT(hampton would count for a 2 year filler), the best move is to deal back…To get more picks in this draft….and to pay less to a guy like a dan williams at 8…or….BERRY at 8(how many safeties went top 4in the past 20 years)…how many in the top 8?

Who would be the prime teams to move up?

Buffalo comes to mind. Who else?

trading down would be ideal but i'm not convinced other teams feel like they have to trade up

let’s all hope clausen will put on a show for his pro day since he isn’t throwing at the combine. then maybe someone will feel the need to get above seattle

The only players I hurt with my words are the ones who have an inflated opinion of their ability. I can't worry about that.

Passion is a prerequisite

You have to have some team fall in love with a player or feel strongly that an upgrade to a position puts them over the top, to make the move into the top 10…imo. Its not limited to QBs, San Fran could be looking at LTs.

If we don't get at least a 2nd round or a 3rd and something I wouldn't make the move.

Who’s to say we shouldn’t take Bradford with our 5th pick?

Opinions are like A--holes, everyones got one.
