Around SBN: Nevin Shapiro Vows To Bring Down Miami

Here are some FAs that I like for value, KC's needs and system fit: Ronnie Brown, Miles Austin, Brandon Marshall, Antonio Bryant ... Karlos Dansby, Gary Brackett, Keith Bulluck, Darren Sharper, LenDale White. This is, for now, ignoring changes from the labor dispute.

Miles Austin

And he just said nice things about our Head Coach. Hmmmm……………..

Not sure these guys are "value"

Considering they will be some of the highest paid FA’s…but damn, getting a couple of these guys would be nice.

Definitely like Miles Austin

Ronnie Brown is interesting, too. Marshall, Bryant, and White don’t seem like Haley’s kind of guys. Bullock, and Sharper are getting up there in age, but wouldn’t mind it if they signed to short term contracts. Dansby would be nice, but the price will probably be too much.

I Doubt He'll Leave Dallas

The Cowboys offense jump-started once he got a starting role. I’d say that it’s more likely that Roy Williams gets cut. He’s been a complete and total bust since he showed up there.

By 'there' I assume you mean the NFL.

Gary Brackett is a helluva player.

That would be a nice move. I don’t know if Indy will let him go though. Miles Austin will get locked up by Dallas this year. I don’t see them letting him go after last years performance.

Considering these guys will either be RFA

or physically beyond usefulness, consider the Chiefs getting none of the above.

by bonesjackson on Feb 15, 2010 12:21 PM CST reply actions

Nonsense

Bullock very well could play like he’s 30 years old again.

That list is absurd

Lots of unrestricted FAs on there, and players who have very little in the tank…

it be good to have austin

especially if he could play like he did last year. he also played for haley so he could tell other receivers to hang in there and just listen to haley

You're a goddamn quarterback! You know what that means? It's the top spot, kid. It's the guy who takes the fall. It's the guy everybody's looking at first - the leader of a team - who will support you when they understand you. Who will break their ribs and their noses and their necks for you, because they believe. 'Cause you make them believe. That's a quarterback.

Ronnie Brown?

The guy injury-prone guy who’s coming off yet another season-ending injury? Pass.

Also pass on Bryant, Sharper, and White if he wants starter money.

Not to mention after Ricky Williams who does Miami have left?

Ricky won’t be around for too many more seasons and Brown was the face of the franchise before his injury. If the Dolphins let him walk then I’m guessing his injury has healed well.

My bold prediction and I think our best chance at moving down in the 1st. Bret Favre retires, Tavarris Jackson is not retained or leaves and the Vikings trade up, with our beloved Chiefs, for Jimmy Claussen.

WRITE IT DOWN!

It will be interesting to see what happens to White

He’s a damn good RB and I would LOVE to see him here. It would be like having 2 Jamal Charles’. I don’t think we would miss a beat if he were coming in to replace Charles. Our running game would be STELLAR with those two.

I don’t expect it to happen though. :(

by Chiefsfan1970 on Feb 15, 2010 3:02 PM CST up reply actions

Good short-yardage back

He could save Charles taking some hits, but for his career he averaged less than 4 ypc, so I see him playing 10-15 plays per game…he is a beast at the goal line.

Patience is truly a virtue, good things will happen soon

Comparing Lendale White to JC?

Surely you must mean Chris Johnson…

White would be the ‘Smash’ to our ‘Dash’.

Not necessarily...

White lost a bunch of weight before the 09 season. He did it to make himself shiftier and quicker. At this point he’s probably closer to a JC kind of back as opposed to a big bruiser like he was before.

by Chiefsfan1970 on Feb 15, 2010 4:44 PM CST up reply actions

If we got Lendale

He’d gain all his weight back eating too much bbq here.

by ChiefsFanInTexas on Feb 15, 2010 6:03 PM CST up reply actions

Lendale I can see as the only one from that group that seems reasonable

Surely he wouldn’t demand starter money, and his role greatly decreased in 2009.

white only wants to be a starter

He said he won’t accept a backup role. Hopefully he figures out that there isn’t one team out there that he would start for. I would definitely take him as a backup to jc though.

by Dbezzan on Feb 15, 2010 3:51 PM CST via mobile reply actions

L White

He has said over and over and over again that he wants to be a starter so why would he come to a team that has a CJ clone. He complained playing behind CJ I don’t want his negativity in our locker room. RB is an easy hole to fill. Go after J. Porter (he will be released in March) and Wilfork the defense just improved and draft for talent in the first 3 rounds. I still believe a LT with our first pick is the best option. It upgrades two positions on our O-line. No other pick would do that. If berry is still there at #5 take him but if not grab the best LT.
