Who is your breakout player for 2010?

As I searched through the AP database for new articles and new opinions about our Chiefs I felt something was missing. Forgive me if I am wrong for I am sure that there have been posts regarding this topic, but recently the tone has been primarily directed at FA and the draft, and rightfully so. But let's change gears and focus on the guys we have right now on the roster. Now, after a poor season where many positions need to be upgraded we all look for the missing pieces to the puzzle and how to best fit them together. But there ARE players on the current roster that will be a part of the rebuilding process. With Weis and Crennel added to this staff, I'd be very surprised if there was any debate on the idea that our coaching staff in 2010 is much improved than the 2009 season. That being said, better coaching would then make the same players better, right?

This post is primarily aimed to find out who your breakout player for the 2010 season will be. Considering the switch to the 3-4 defense and the blocking scheme on offense. Needless to say, we had a lot of players that were constantly learning new things each and every week. For anyone who has ever played sports can appreciate that when you are learning something new, it takes reps and time for it to become second nature. Not that they don't know their responsibilities every play, but its not second nature yet. So I tried to find a player that is in line for a breakout season next year.

1. I looked for a guy that was praised by the coaches for buying into their system

2. I looked for a guy that is entering his prime

3. A guy that showed some success in his new role

4. A guy who is durable

Tamba Hali is 26 years old and just had the best year of his career while transitioning to a new position. He has only missed 1 game in 4 years and should have been a pro bowler this year. I believe he will be a big time player for us next year. He has been praised by the coaching staff for his work ethic and focus on learning a new position in a new scheme. Once Crennel fine-tunes his football instincts in his vision-this guy will be a big time difference-maker. Putting some pieces around Hali to help stop the run will only give him more chances at 3rd and long to display his new skills.

Who is your breakout player for 2010 and what kind of impact do you see Tamba Hali making in 2010?
