Thomas Dimitroff's Strange Connection To Chiefs GM Scott Pioli

Atlanta Falcons GM Thomas Dimitroff appeared on The Program with Soren Petro during Super Bowl week and explained his strange connection to Kansas City Chiefs GM Scott Pioli.

These two men are each at the top of their profession but their connection goes way back to the early 90s.

Dimitroff said he was doing some in-season scouting for the Chiefs at odd schools now and again around the Pennsylvania and Ohio area at the time.

"The very funny story is my dad was scouting for the Browns, working for Bill Belchick," Dimitroff said. "Scott Pioli was also there while I was also doing work for the Kansas City Chiefs in some of those areas for Terry Bradway. I was painting fields for the Browns....it was just this really bizarre state of affairs that they actually let me in the building, scouting for the Chiefs, also painting the fields. I developed more of a relationship with Scott.

"Those are the times I was coming off the field, laden in paint and Scott would be laughing at me all smelly. [I was] talking to Scott about which direction I was going with this whole football thing."

Dimitroff said he didn't want to go back into the "real world" working at some non-football business so he said he did whatever he could to stay connected to football somehow.

Almost 20 years later...they're each running a football team. I guess success comes from anywhere, right?

Goodness

Sounds to me if you have a dad, brother, uncle, or a 2nd cousins grandaddy’s baby stepson you have a golden ticket to get a job within the NFL. How lucky are these guys…we have one of them in Haley.
