Coping With Six Months Until Chiefs Play Football Again

Sigh.

Football will only get closer from here on out but we're a solid six months away from seeing another real live game. The Hall of Fame game kicks off preseason football every year in August.

I'm officially depressed with the lack of football over the coming months. Sure, we've got the other season - the NFL Draft - but these first few weeks after the Super Bowl are always a real downer.

If you've been following Arrowhead Pride for some time, then you know we'll continue to have content (I didn't say good content) every day including commentary, photos and all kinds of other (semi-) Chiefs-related stories.

Star-divide

Coming up at the end of February, the NFL Combine will take place and that will be the next wave of "news" we've got on the Chiefs. Until then, we'll be previewing prospects, draft scenarios and prepping to start the third annual AP Mock Draft.

After that, the start of the new league year comes on March 5th. That means…Free agency! That starts at midnight on the 5th so we'll be inviting you to join us in staying up late like we did last year. I may have to take the next day off of work, though. Last year was rough moving on three hours of sleep.

After free agency, the Chiefs will conduct some voluntary workouts in March as we continue to prep for the NFL Draft in April.

Judging from past history, April will be a crazy month. Last year, we smashed all traffic records in April, including number of comments and posts.  That was the first time we passed one million page views in a month. Now, that would be considered a low point for us. We expect to at least double that this April.

After the draft, it's the real offseason.  May, June and July are a little rough with rookie signings and the occasional voluntary mini-camp.

With August comes the Hall of Fame game, or the first sign of real football. Training camp, preseason games…football is back at that point.

See, that's not too long, right?

The best thing

Training Camp is in MISSOURI lol

Great moments are born from great opportunity.

plus with training camp in Missouri this year

im really looking forward to the onslaught of news to get the season kicked off. Right now is kind of a recooperation time at my household. No football, Baseball dont start until April, so that gives me about 2 months to take care of stuff around the house then it full swing again when the Royals start up!

How much does it cost to be cryogenically frozen for 6 months?

I’d look forward to baseball season but it looks like my Jays are in for a 70 win season which is painful.

thats probably 10-20 wins more than the Royals this year

You guys picked up John Buck that is a guaranteed + 15 wins, only if he stops the ball, and your announcers dont talk about his twins everytime he comes to the plate so they dont have to reveal his .201 BA

The AP draft

I would love to be a part of that but it seems that it fills up so fast that if your not on AP you miss out. Could we maybe find a way for the regulars to participate without the first come first serve rule..

Do what I do. Everytime someone mentions it, scream out your teams name!

For all that is holy

I beg of you, Joel, don’t front page the Mock Drafts.

Don't forget...

We have the best drafting team in the league; “masterful,” or “genius” some folks say…

I can’t wait until draft day and I’ll be on the edge of my seat until then. And don’t stop watching until all the draft picks are in….look who we got out of the least relevant spot…a solid, dependable kicker that we’ll have for years to come.

The future is ours KC Chiefs fans!!!!!

Okay, so since this is the down time let me ask this:

We are all into Arrowhead Pride because we are Chiefs fans right. Most very passionate, many very reasoned, some very outspoken.

So, if any of us were to run into each other, let’s say waiting in an airport, and each had on a Chiefs article of clothing, and that prompts conversation because it’s obvious we are both Chiefs fans, would any of you know the other was an Arrowhead Pride blogger just from the conversation? Those of you with actual pictures as your avatar are disqualified because we should have recognized you.

Depends if I say Tebow

and Get Hell Yeah. I am talking to Matt or Craig :)
if I say Okung and it is happy conversation I would say Bewsaf or Upamtn.
So yeah I might, cause I am the bartender here at AP :)
