Chiefs-Rams Connections Few And Far Between
Courtesy of the mothership, here are this week's Kansas City Chiefs-St. Louis Rams connections. There isn't much to go on this week aside from a few regional connections. We do have Dick Curl making an appearance, as well as Ricky Price's cousin.

- Chiefs S Ricky Price is the cousin of Rams RB Steven Jackson.

Well...Saint Louis does have a good baseball team.
And a nice Zoo.
Nothing else about the place ever impressed me much.
Chiefs will. But...will Cassel?
10 + wins in 2010. Chiefs SHOCK the NFL!!! Mark it down.
With as well as Bradford has done this season
It makes me wonder if Dick Curl wasn’t as bad as we all thought a few years back.
If you can sack groceries, you can sack a QB... right?

I Think It Just Goes To Show
That even the world’s greatest QB coach couldn’t have turned Brodie Croyle into much more than a terrible career backup. But yes, Dick Curl probably got an unfair dose of criticism considering.
Could be a lot of factors at work there
but I’m leaning that way as well…

This Is True
But Cassel’s shown significant improvement over the course of his time with the Chiefs under Todd Haley (especially during this season) and yet Croyle is still pretty much the same guy that he was under Herm even with better talent around him. So I’m inclined to say it was more about lack of talent from the player than poor work on the coach’s part.
I agree completely
but more of what I’m thinking is Curl got undue scrutiny for that, as well as the complete ineptness of the coaching around him. Probably started at the top… the game had passed CP by, and it was only got worse for everyone.

Probably So
There were problems all through the organization…not much accountability, horrible results and performance all around. The only thing that might salvage their legacy at the end was that the 2008 draft class seems to have been pretty stellar.
Time shall tell
I still get agitated when I hear Herm on the radio or TV anymore… that guy annoys me to no end.

Yeah, I Used To Feel The Same
But then what’s the guy really going to say? “I did a totally shitty job and should never be a head coach again.”? He liked coaching, was a decent position coach and was horrible being a head coach…I doubt he’ll ever get a chance to do it again, which is why he’s on ESPN as an analyst where nothing he says really means anything.
Richard Curl....lol

hi, Mo! 5 minutes!!!
I would like to put in an application to be the Chiefs "Water Boy Coach"
I have years and years of experience in drinking water, and therefore consider myself “expert” in terms of “water quality” … in addition, I have had numerous jobs where I’ve been required to “carry” something, as well as positions where I’ve helped or assisted others
I believe my vast wealth of experiences over the years make me uniquely qualifed to be the next Water Boy Coach of the Kansas City Chiefs (and they should hire me immediately!)

Wait A Minute...
So Dick Curl is the QB coach with St. Louis after he couldn’t do a damned thing to turn Brodie Croyle into a legit NFL QB? And yet Sam Bradford’s had a pretty solid rookie year as St. Louis’ QB under his tutelage while Brodie Croyle threw for 40 yards last week?
Hmmmm…
Well, in all fairness...
Bradford was the #1 overall pick in the 2010 draft.
Brodie was…not.
Chiefs will. But...will Cassel?

Meh
I realize that Bradford has infinitely more talent than Croyle…I’m just sick of people finding excuses for why Croyle is still cluttering the Chiefs’ roster as the primary backup when a) he couldn’t outperform guys like Damon Huard (who was a decent but not particularly great QB) and Tyler Thigpen (who could only play out of the shotgun) and b) the team has lost all ten games that he’s started and he did nothing during those games to show he deserved to be anything more than a desperation backup.
Hopefully the Chiefs will finally pull the plug on him this offseason and find a backup QB who won’t give us an automatic loss if something happens to force Cassel to miss a game,
Denario Alexander
Should’ve been a Chief. If he ends up beating us on Sunday…I’m gonna be sick.
St. Louis is the original home of the ice cream cone and toasted ravioli
They also are the home of the bands Story of the Year and Ludo. And the Cards are consistently one of the best teams in baseball.
My in-laws live in STL
so you can guess how I feel about the place. :)
In all seriousness though, things I like about STL:
1. Cardinals
2. The Hill
3. Zoo
4. ….um that’s it I think
I lived there a bit
only redeeming thing about St. Louis is Ted Drewes. The best frozen custard place in the world.
Luckily, they have it at a local pizza place so I don’t have to go to StL to get it!
The year I worked at Arrowhead for my first job ever, the Chiefs were 8-0 at home. I think that the Kansas City Chiefs should pay me to go to the games so they always win
It Never Struck Me As A Bad Place
But honestly I can’t think of anything about it other than the Gateway Arch and the Cardinals that stuck out about it. Just really a non-descript place for such a large city. Don’t they have a Pro Bowling Hall of Fame there or something?
Now there's a nice little slogan for the Saint Louis Department of Tourism.
It’s the Cleveland of Missouri, only without the stink of failure and decay.

I disagree. St. Louis definitely has a stink.

pro bowling hall of fame
has moved. and dont forget, not too long ago st. louis was named greatest sports city. and dont forget about the blues. up untill a few years ago the blues had the current longest consecutive playoff appearances.
I could give a F if some magazine named them the best sports city
The way they support the Rams proves that was a mistake.
Even when the team is good, that dome crowd is a joke.
And I don’t care that 4 years ago the Blues had the longest streak for playoffs appearances. Sorry, that’s irrelevant to me.
The Cardinals have a lot of fans, other than that, there is nothing special about STL sports or its fans.
Put Cardinals fans through one Royals season and they're all White Sox fans
Anthrax, ham radio, and liquor.
