We've received the NFL's release with updated numbers on the 2011 Pro Bowl fan vote and missing are the Kansas City Chiefs. There are currently no Chiefs leading the way at their position in Pro Bowl voting. There are a few Chiefs in the top five at their position for the AFC (which you can see here) but none at the top.
That's not cause for concern because these are just the numbers on the fan vote, which is one third of the process. The other two thirds are made up by the coaches and players votes, which will be conducted on Dec. 22-23. The fan vote ends on Dec. 20 and the announcement of the winners will come on Dec. 28.
So which Chiefs should be involved?
QB Matt Cassel: Say what you want about Cassel but he has plenty of numbers that rank very favorable in the NFL. He has 23 touchdowns to four interceptions. I'm not sure about hitting the Pro Bowl with guys like QB Peyton Manning and QB Tom Brady in the conference but he's having a solid season.
RB Jamaal Charles: He's currently third in the NFL in rushing yards and has been the most effective back in the NFL. Other players and coaches can probably attest to his Pro Bowl status.
WR Dwayne Bowe: He leads the NFL in touchdown receptions and scored 13 of them in seven games.
LB Tamba Hali: He's tied for third in the NFL with 11 sacks. Only DE Cameron Wake is ahead of him in the AFC.
