SAN DIEGO CA - DECEMBER 12: Philip Rivers #17 of the San Diego Chargers scrambles to throw from Tamba Hali #91 of the Kansas City Chiefs during the third quarter on way to a 31-0 Charger win at Qualcomm Stadium on December 12 2010 in San Diego California. (Photo by Harry How/Getty Images)
We ask you to grade the Kansas City Chiefs after every game and I imagine this one has the potential to be among the ugliest grades yet. The Chiefs were beat up and down by the San Diego Chargers, 31-0. There aren't many positives in this one so I think we'll see some failing marks here.
Here's how my grades look. Give us yours and vote in the poll.
Offense: F
Awful. Boring. Weak. These words explain the Chiefs offense on Sunday against the Chargers. What they did clearly didn't work as they were stopped on all 11 third down conversion attempts. They were boring because they were still committed to the run even in the third quarter down 21 points. And they were weak because the Chargers line pressured Croyle every time he dropped back to pass.
Defense: D
Just like the offense, there wasn't much going right with the defense. They allowed big Chargers run after big Chargers run en route to 207 rushing yards given up. Philip Rivers didn't even have to try as he completed 75 percent of his passes and two touchdowns. They don't get an F from me because of the two turnovers created.
Special teams: C
There weren't any major gaffes on either side outside of Antoine Cason's 42-yard punt return. The Chiefs got a spark from special teams the first time they played and nothing this time around.
