The Right "53"

This season, we've seen unlikely contributors step up for our Kansas City Chiefs. Ranging anywhere from Kendrick Lewis, to Shaun Smith, to Barry Richardson, to even Verran Tucker. Now, it's time for another.

Everybody on the 53 man roster has seen action this season except for one lonely man, Brodie Croyle. All the time we hear the talk of The Right 53, and Chiefs Will. For the record, those aren't cliches, they're smart, and they're the truth. Anyway, back to the story. This team so far has proved that it has the right mix, a solid blend of youth and exuberance. We've seen so many big plays from different players, and we've seen some guys emerge when all seemed lost ( Cassel and Bowe...).

If we truly have the Right 53, not 52, Brodie Croyle will lead us to victory. I'm sick of seeing people arguing back and forth with "I told you so" comments involving the QB. As far as I'm concerned, I'm rooting for the guy with an arrowhead on his helmet, regardless of his meaningless nameplate.

How fitting would it be, in this age of 53 equaling one, if our 53rd player basically led us to the victory which would salt away the division. I really think this team is special, and I think they're going to win today. Everybody says how the Chargers have more talent. I completely disagree, and no, I'm not being a homer.

Rivers is a great QB, but where else are they so great? They have a great, yet hobbling TE, and a solid O-line. They have a good LB corps, and solid corners, but they certainly aren't Flowers and Carr. We have the best WR, the best two RB's, and our O-line is just as good. I think our D-Line is better, and our safeties are infinitely more talented.

Regardless, I think our 53rd player will be 1st in our hearts come tomorrow night. After all, it's the Right 53, not the Right 52.

Go Chiefs.
