So I am beginning to grow anxious about the Chiefs' playoff chances. Maybe I am putting too much stock in what the schmucks in Vegas say, but glance over this article: http://www.sportsmemo.com/blogs/view/?blog_id=5792
What it seems to come down to is that we HAVE to beat San Diego in San Diego in order to win the division, and that if we don't do that, our playoff chances are slim. This is very disheartening - and it could mark the second time that Matt Cassel leads a team to an 11-5 record and still misses the playoffs. I know I'm assuming a lot in these projections and first we have to beat Denver. But the wild cards seem very likely to go to the North (Pittsburgh or Baltimore) or the East (New England or New York).
I say this because I notice many people operating with the assumption that the Chiefs will make it to the playoffs this year. Well it seems to me that the only way to do that is to beat the Bolts in SoCal. Possible? Of course. Probable? My Chiefs-ness will not permit me to comment.
