San Diego is THE measuring stick...

The table is set.....everyone is San Diego and Kansas City is foaming at the mouth for this, a tantalizing December matchup between two rivals, with EVERYthing on the line. The game we in Kansas City have been craving since 2003 (last time I remember thinking we had a chance to win the Super Bowl). Unfortunately, let's not overlook the appetizer, and hope San Diego does. Both teams come into this week with the possibility of overlooking what are in my opinion inferior opponents. The Chiefs though have the clear advantage in being a young hungry team, and not having the opportunity to overlook anyone, including a team that ran up the score and beat them up and down the field and in every single way imagineable just two weeks ago. Denver at this point is probably second guessing its decision to hot-dog on the sidelines and jaw at the Chiefs every chance they got, I fully expect for the offensive line to out-physical Denver into the Arrowhead turf all day long, and Charles and Jones to run for well over 200 yards, which at this point in the season is becoming the norm. San Diego on the other hand has a much tougher matchup with Oakland on the horizon, who is a hit or miss team this season, really you never know what QB or which team is going to show up, but for the 1st time maybe in my young life I will be rooting hard for the Raiders, but at the same time I would love to see a matchup for 1st place for all the marbles between the young upstart Chiefs, and the bully on the block. The respect is right in front of us, all we have to do is go right into the Lions den, and take their steak. At this point I just want to see where all the positive energy, all the good signs, all the young players development, all the talk of CHIEFS WILL, can really get us?? Beating San Diego in San Diego not only puts the AFC West in our hands, it serves notice to the rest of the AFC the Chiefs are no longer just a cute story, they're a complete football team, ready not only to make their first playoff appearance, but to make some noise when they get there, powered by a super bowl winning coaching staff, a team loaded with young talent, and a head coach just crazy enough to pull off something amazing, when you hear players such as Jamaal Charles and Dwayne Bowe mention Super Bowl the chills go up your spine, the hairs stand up on your neck....and you think maybe the CHIEFS WILL!!!
