While sitting here grinding away on some calculus 2 homework, I decided to take a break and check out my favorite Chiefs site. The thing I’ve noticed over the past few weeks here is every time Matt Cassel’s name gets mentioned, there is an uproar going on of people bashing or defending him. I’m not a Cassel hater or defender myself and sure I get frustrated when he holds on to the ball too long or makes a bad throw, but the thing I tell myself is that he’s our quarterback. Whether we like it or not, Cassel is the guy who leads our beloved Chiefs onto the field every week. Do I think this year’s success is because of Cassel? No. But has he helped us? Yes. Should we go a different direction after this season? I honestly don’t know. The one thing I do know it is a lot of fun every Sunday watching this team. So we can sit around arguing every week about this or we can enjoy the ride after the last 3 years. This post isn’t intended to change anyone’s mind about Cassel. I just want everyone to remember that no matter how much we defend or bash him amongst each other; it's not going to change anything. He’s our quarterback, plain and simple.
