2011 Hall Of Fame: Willie Roaf, Former Chief, Is One Of 26 Semi-Finalists
Former Kansas City Chiefs left tackle Willie Roaf is one of 26 candidates for enshrinement into the 2011 Hall of Fame. Roaf is one of five first time candidates that include Jerome Bettis, Marshall Faulk, Curtis Martin and Deion Sanders.
The Chiefs picked up Roaf in 2002 where he spent four years in KC and made four Pro Bowls blocking for a few of the best running back seasons in recent memory including Priest Holmes' single season touchdown record in 2003 and Larry Johnson's ridiculous run in the second half of the 2005 season.
Roaf retired shortly before the 2006 season that put the Chiefs in a bind as far as a replacement went. But he was among the elite during those four years, and the nine years prior with the New Orleans Saints where he went to another seven Pro Bowls. He was the 8th overall pick in 1993 and lived up to (and surpassed) expectations.
These 26 candidates -- only 21 have been announced -- will be whittled down to 15 and then the 2011 class will be announced before the Super Bowl.
Here are the other semi-finalists that have been announced:

Loud Mouth Sharpe might actually make it this year
Because thats a pretty ho-hum list.
"Success is never ending, failure is never final."
He should make it in...
For a while he was the greatest TE to ever play… I couldn’t name 4 that were better than him.

Roaf's a shoo-in IMO
Best LT I’ve ever seen. He would put his hands on a pass rusher and they just STOPPED. In the running game, he was always a sure thing to take out at least one guy.
And by take out, I mean completely destroy.
I love my wife, my kids, and the Chiefs. In that order. Except on game days.
Lets hope! The guy was a stud here in KC! HUGE! and could pull and knock some butt!
Can anyone tell I"m impressed? I don’t need any damn KoolAid. Reality is just as sweet!
i hope
he gets in, Willie was loved here and he loved being a Chief! I think the four years he had here were better than the 9 in NO, i would love him to go in as a Chiefs
Go Chiefs!
2010-2011 Is not the year we need to be excited about, look out future the CHIEFS will win
Honestly... I think Ray Guy should get in...
Every position should be represented in the hall of fame, and he was the best.

If Terrell Davis or Jerome Bettis ever make it into the HoF I'll stop caring about who gets in/doesnt

I can't stand Deion.
But he probably deserves to get in on the first ballot. Best shutdown corner I’ve ever seen (by far), and an excellent returner as well. He gets hammered on for his (lack of) tackling, and rightly so, but when you can shut down half the field like he did, a lot of that can be forgiven. It was just sick how fast he could close in on a receiver.
I have an inferiority complex, but it's not a very good one.
I don't think you go in for any team in the NFL.
It’s not like MLB, where they have to choose what logo to put on the cap.
