When Haley moved to Arizona, in the shadow of that mountain between downtown Phoenix and Scottsdale, he was carrying about 60 extra pounds. He had heard about the hikers who scaled Camelback, the ones who climbed it recreationally and the others who made it their mission. Haley figured he’d give a try someday.
