This week, I've never been so proud to be a Chiefs fan

I know what you're thinking. Really, after we about lost (or tied) to a winless team? This post isn't about that game. It is about us, the fans. I know you all have some story of how/why you became Chiefs fans. I really don't even have to write this FanPost, because everyone on this site knows what it means to be a true Chiefs fan, but I want to tell you what I think sets us apart from the rest of the NFL.

A lot of Chiefs fans are from the heartland, baby. (For those of you that are not, don't take this the wrong way-you also have what it takes). But where I'm from (Northwest Kansas, yes there is a Northwest Kansas) we know a couple of things 1) Hard work 2) Chiefs Football. Beer could be included in this, but that's not the point of this post. I now live in Central Kansas, and it's the same thing here. We are different because we cherish the Chiefs.I know that I can say Sunday is a hell of a lot better day for all of you after a Chiefs win. It can pick you up even if you are still feeling a little rough from the Saturday night before. I wear a Chiefs ball cap everywhere (when I'm not working) and I heard the same thing from every Chiefs fan that came up and talked to me so far this week. "The Chiefs tried to give me a friggen heart attack". I felt the same way, but I knew that I have an unhealthy obsession with the Chiefs (could be worse things in life) and I figured it was just me and a select few. But it wasn't just one person that felt like this, it was everyone. It was in the paper, it was in the comments on this site, it was in FanPosts, it was everywhere. Basically all of Chiefs nation was having some sort of cardiac problem this Sunday. I am just so proud to be a part of something that everyone is so passionate about. What do I want everyone to take from this? I want you to think about this the next time you rip on another commentor for his beliefs about anything. You may not agree with the fact that he/she thinks Cassel sucks. You may not agree with the fact that he/she thinks that last play call sucked or that there was a terrible call. What you do agree on is more important. You agree on the Chiefs. You can be sure they are feeling the same range of emotions you are, even if they don't express it in the way you think they should. We ARE the best fans in the NFL. Just ask one of the Thorman brothers and I'm sure they'd be happy to tell you about how AP beats the hell out of everyone else in traffic. I'm done with my "mushy" post, hope you enjoyed it.

Almost forgot.... Lets beat some Raider ass this weekend!
