KC is currently ranked 30th out of 32 in passing yards per game. I wondered how KC's second, third and fourth receivers compared to other teams at the bottom of the heap. It looks like KC has the worst productivity among them.
Total Receptions by WRs 2, 3 and 4:
KC - 29 receptions.
Carolina (32nd pass offense) 40 receptions.
Cardinals (31st pass offense) 41 receptions.
Seahawks (29th pass offense) 40 receptions.
Jaguars (28th pass offense) 39 receptions.
All five teams have QB issues, so it is hard to argue that Cassel is demonstrably worse than any of the other guys and that is the reason why the receivers aren't getting the ball.
Why can't KC find a semi-productive #2 receiver? Does the lack of receiving options give the staff an excuse to keep going with Cassel in the future?
