C'mon Chiefs fans......
1. There were still tons of empty seats. I know we have had some bad years…but c’mon. We are 5-2, 4-0 at home, and still lead the AFC West by 1 1/2 games. Plus, it was a perfect day for football. Why are there still so many empty seats? 2. I was in section 302, and it seemed like I was the only one standing, screaming my head off, and pounding on the seats. Everyone around me just kind of sat there most of the game. Where was the passion and the fire? Is this just the "new" brand of Chiefs fans or what? It was loud at Arrowhead, but it can get better. C’mon Chiefs fans.

People have become..
too comfortable just showing up to the game and sitting on their butts. Call me crazy but a 5-2 team deserves to have the stadium rocking every Sunday. I know if I lived closer I’d take full advantage of those empty seats but can’t really afford tickets, hotel, gas every week to drive to KC.
I was there too
just seems like people dont want to play for those club level seats, or theyre all at the bar watching the game. other than that to me it seemed like there were a lot of people there for playing the bills

We were there..
4 people in front of me and 4 people to the left of me all left at halftime. I was confused and pissed at the same time. Why even come to the game if you’re going to leave early?
I want a championship team in KC.
I'm a MU fan..And so is the guy in my picture in yellow w/his arms raised high while surrounded by all blue.

I noticed people leaving at halftime too.
I could maybe, and I say maybe, understand if it was a blowout one way or the other….but it was a close game at halftime and people left in my section too. That is crazy to me.

I even saw 3 people leave in the middle of the overtime.
Guess they were pressed for time and felt the game was never going to end. I just shook my damn head. I’m still trying to get my voice back.
Yea it was pretty chilly and the wind was blowing like hell and people were cold. But stick it out. They’re playing their asses off and at 5-2 I think that deserves most fans to stick it out

I too was there
and while I felt our section cheered well (and siting or standing makes no difference as long as noise is being made) I noticed allot of empty seats. I’m not talking the club level – if you looked in each end zone top to bottom there were plenty of open seats. I kept thinking I should move to the lower level and grab an empty seat. Wonder what the deal was why aren’t they showing up?
I think there is still a malaise
that surrounds this program. The Chiefs were pretty seriously written off and many fans were/are simply burnt out. Fans are skeptical, this town was really hurt by the Herm Edwards era. It may take some time to get that magic back.
Is that seat getting a little worm, Mr. Gill?
I guess I am just being nostalgic and all...
But I just miss the glory days of Arrowhead, when you couldn’t find 1 empty seat in the house. It was like that as recently as 2003-2004. But Herm must have really hurt this city more than I thought.
I just figured once the Chiefs started having some real success, that fans would be right back. But it just seems like there are a lot of people that still don’t want to come back.
I brought my girlfriend to the game and was pumping up Arrowhead for her and telling her how great it is when the Chiefs are winning…and…pfffft. Thousands of empty seats and wishy washy, non cheering fans. A huge disappointment.

How about MNF? I have a feeling the next “sell out” will be if and when we have a Home playoff game. It’s really a shame.

There were still quite a few empty seats.
And by the end of the game…there were thousands.
Yeah…it was late, and yeah it was raining….but it’s our home opener on MNF and it went down to the wire. You just don’t leave games like that.
I didn’t bring any rain gear, had a 3 hour drive home, and had to be at work at 6am the next morning…and I was there until the end.

Rec'd
However when I say it, I get accused of hating the Military for some reason.

Agreed
I’m in CO now and if I could get to KC for every game I would. Seeing so many empty seats on tv had me baffled. If I get to come home for Christmas I’m going to try and make the Chiefs vs Titans game.
Hopefully we continue having success
and we get two more primetime home games (SNF). One against the Titans and the other against the Raiders. The people will definitely show up for a primetime game.

Season ticket holder in 342 and I agree.
We have got a ways to go to get it back to where it was. Factors outside of us losing the last few years have a part in it as well like the economy.
The other thing is, I want the smart fans back. The ones who know when to stand and yell and when to be quite for the offense. The ones that don’t boo when it is the right call even if it is against us. That’s what I am looking for.
I think all this will come in time.
3GChief = 3rd Generation Season Ticket Holder
Weak crowd...again
Maybe if some APers would stop buying meth and buy tickets, Arrowhead would be full
I'd rather be a free man in my grave than living as a puppet or a slave
Can't it be both?

Has anyone noticed how the yellow seats on the second tier are always pretty empty.
Hardly anyone sits there and it makes the stadium look really empty. It seems like those would be decent seats.
Two-thirds of the earth is covered by water, the other one-third is covered by Brandon Flowers.
Thats the problem..
those are amazing seats, the problem is they are about $250+ per seat so no one can afford to sit there.
Terelle Pryor is the future!!
