Over the hill and through the woods...

Good morning Chiefs fans,

Well they did it. The impossible. Beating an impossibly tough, searching Buffalo Bills team wasn't as easy as many were expecting. Not that yesterdays win was necessarily impossible yesterday, but the Chiefs overcame some adversity and had a little luck go their way in the overtime debacle against Gailey's Baffleo Bills.

Buffalo came into town expecting to win yesterday and they almost did. Todd Haley, in some opinions made some questionable decisions yesterday when he could have kicked, but we must remember that this is a common theme for the Chiefs, WIN AT ALL COST. This defense is continuing to play well. You can say what you want about Buffalo's drive in the last 3 minutes to tie, but the Chiefs played well all day. Buffalo put up 34...yes, 34 points against the Ravens defense last week and we held them to around 200 yards of TOTAL offense up until that last drive.

Charlie Weis once again made us scratch our heads on offense again with some of the calls for pass plays yesterday. Or did he? In my opinion, I went back and looked at some of those call yesterday and noticed that maybe Charlie is on the right track with this offense. From what I saw, (once again this is opinion folks) Weis made some good calls on those pass plays. The problem is Cassel either isn't going through his progressions correctly or he needs to learn how to again. Four different times yesterday he had WIDE open people and either over threw them by 5+ yards or didnt even throw their direction. It is a bit disturbing from time to time to see this, but I feel like Cassel may eventually come around. Let's just hope its sooner than later.

The two-headed monster showed back up again yesterday with the 3rd straight 200 yd rushing performance for the Chiefs since 1978. That is quite an accomplishment considering some of the backs we have had here in the past 20+ years. Jamaal looked like he had a chip on his shoulder yesterday. I hope it stays there, he hasn't run the ball like that since the opener against San Diego.

We are now 5-2, keeping a solid hold on the AFC West lead over the now .500 Oakland Raiders. The Raiders have not been .500 this late in the year since thier Super Bowl year in 2002. Don't fret my fellow fans, this is just a phase. They will have a difficult test this weekend against our boys. The Chiefs really need the win this weekend. Look for them to really put it to the Raiders.
