Chiefs vs. Colts: KC Safety Reshard Langford Ruled Out

The Kansas City Chiefs have had the same three names on the injury report all week.

DE Tyson Jackson (knee) and RT Ryan O'Callaghan (groin) are listed as questionable for the game.

S Reshard Langford was listed as doubtful with an ankle injury, which means there is a very good chance he wouldn't be playing. Langford is a reserve safety.

The Chiefs made it official. He's out. Josh Looney of KCChiefs.com says he didn't travel with the team to Indy.

That sounds like Jackson and O'Callaghan did make the trip to Indy so I suppose that suggests they have a good shot at playing. Jackson hasn't played since coming out in Week 1 against the San Diego Chargers. O'Callaghan hasn't played at all this season.

Here's the evolution of the injury report for Colts week:

Wednesday injury report

Thursday injury report

Friday injury report

Someone with scheme-intelligence please enlighten me

Wouldn’t Gillberry get more PT this week because of his pash rushing ability? I’d love to see TJax out there but won’t we see a little more of Gillberry and that package because of the pass first offense?

Glad O’Call is back if nothing more than depth if he isn’t ready to start, was getting a little thin.

It's happening............enjoy the ride

i have no scheme intelligence

but maybe with jackson being a better run stopper might not have to put near as many in the box and have more dbacks

I prob would agree with you last season.

However, T-Jax Monday night was a completely different player. He played with an intensity I haven’t seen. Gilberry is a better speed rusher than run stopper but, T-Jax was doing pretty well at both. For the Chiefs sake, I hope he keeps this up. Then you have Smith. IMO, Smith and T-Jax are going to be great in rotation with each other. That’s who I hope to see. T-Jax and Smith staying rested for the slug fest 4th qtr.

gilberry plays dorseys spot yah?

2010 predictions live by em die by em
- Chiefs do what they did last year and double their win total.. Good for a second place finish in the AFC West
-McCluster is considered for ROY, doesn't win it
- Arenas takes two to the house
- Carr becomes a legitimate corner
-Flowers gets jipped in Pro Bowl voting

Indy throws it a lot, but they don't play a lot of 4 wides because it would mean pulling Clark

if they can run the ball it forces you to play in base defense. Gilberry is not a base 3-4 for obvious reasons. If we get ahead and force them to abandon the run, then you’ll see him more, IMO

I don't think Langford out

will hurt us. Our 1 to their 2 million injured isn’t that bad.

Jamaal Charles...Enough said.

Picks
40-22

Tell me about it.

What I’m hoping for more than anything in this game is to come out of it without injuries (turf). And of course to be competitive. The turf always scares me though. I doubt that has anything to do with Colts 400 injured but, still worries me.

FieldTurf is not bad at all.

It’s not close to the old AstroTurf.

Knocking on wood. I think the Chiefs train smart and play smart.

They’re no more vulnerable than the Colts and likely less so.

Nice to have O'Callaghan back, regardless of how well I think Richardson is developing.

At worst, KC has a different tackle in the mix against a great pair of DEs.

I agree completely

Thankfully Richardson has come along very well, but I think O’Cal is a more athletic right tackle and gives us more mobility for our pulling game. He gets out to the second level more consistently, and he handles speed rushers better (I’m assuming since we haven’t really seen BRich have to do that yet). Any way you look at it, our depth is much better than it was 12 months ago with the improvement both of them have brought to the position.
