Beating Vegas!! Week 5

Whattt Upppp!!!!. I have been reading and loving the stories/discussions on this site. Some might be a little repetitive at times, but still some killer work. I wouldn't say I was new to this site, just been on an involuntary hiatus. More after jump..

I am born and raised in Las Vegas and am no stranger to sports betting. Betting was actually how i became a chiefs fan 20 years ago(i'm 28 now) When I was in about 2nd grade, I pretty much taught myself about the pointspread, over/unders, moneyline, etc...On Sunday mornings, my mother use to bring me down to the local casino so I could put a 5-10 dollar  3 team parlay card in. I would only win every now and then, but the excitement it brought on Sundays was worth it. As much fun as I had doing it, I was constantly reminded by mom that the lights in Las Vegas were not built on people winning. Athough there are some people who make a career out of gambling, I am not one of them and don't think i'd try to be.

I still bet when I can but learned some things along the way. One thing I learned was don't bet against the Chiefs. Not because they are unstoppable against/with the spread, but because nothing defines mixed emotions like needing the Chiefs to lose in order to win money off your bet. If I don't feel confident in the Chiefs to cover the spread, I just pass on that game completely. Makes life a lot easier.

Now that we have that out of the way, let's get down to business. I thought it would be fun to post 4 games  with their pointspread. Pick one team from each of the games posted and see what your record is against others. Of course no money is rewarded, but bragging rights are all yours. I'll post the people who hit all 4 games sometime next week. Since we are all Chief fans and this is a Chief site, it's only right to make one of those games the Chiefs game. The Sunday and Monday night game will also be part of the 4. The other game will be determined by me. Will see how it goes and maybe continue every week. Ya never know, you might just have a hidden talent to beat Vegas.

In case people have never bet or know nothing about pointspreads, I will explain. Let's just say the game is the rams vs the saints. The pointspread is saints -5. That would mean the saints are the favorite to win and the books believe they will win by somewhere in the 5 point range. The rams here would be the underdogs. If you picked the rams +5, as long as you don't lose by more then 5 points, your golden. So if the score was saints 23   rams 20, you would win if you had rams and lose if you had saints ( add the 5 points to the rams 20 and the final score is actually saints 23 rams 25). Get it Got it? Good. This is just for fun and to test your skills. Oh yea one last thing..Ties win.. If that same game ended saints 25  rams 20, you would win no matter who you had. Not necessarily rules of the book, but rules for this post.. Good Luck
