Colts Safety Melvin Bullitt Out For The Year; Former Chief DaJuan Morgan Steps Up
We mentioned yesterday that Indianapolis Colts safety Melvin Bullitt was injured last week and, if he couldn't go, it would be former Chief DaJuan Morgan would be picking up the slack.
ESPN's Adam Schefter reports Bullitt is indeed out for the Chiefs -- and the rest of the year -- with a shoulder injury.
That means Morgan will plenty of looks from the Chiefs.
Yesterday when talking about Ryan Lilja's knowledge of the Colts offense, Chiefs coach Todd Haley suggested that the Chiefs could target a player on the opposing team if they know a lot about it.
That would be Morgan. The Chiefs drafted him in 2008 and he spent 2009 on the Chiefs roster so they know what he can (and can't) do.

Very good for us.
A. He’s just not that good.
B. He’s playing his former team and will over-do it/make mistakes
C. He’s just not that good.
Chiefs 2010 Prediction: 8-8
Then there is always the chance that he gets motivated and has a good game.
He stunk with us but he was athletic.

Play action passes.
All day long.
I’d love to see Charles get one on one with this guy in the open field, too.
Sweet.
This is reminding me more and more of the SD game. Stars are aligning to give us a big boost.
God typed "iddqd" before creating Jason Heyward.
Fingers crossed that the Colts practice tackling this week.
Not so they tackle better, but so more players get hurt.
Chiefs 2010 Prediction: 8-8
I bet
They will sign Michael Lewis.

What ARE Morgan's weaknesses?
He was pretty much invisible (aside from the preseason Rams game last year).
I think he gets burned deep
and bites hard on play fakes. Not too fast. I could be wrong, because we really didn’t see much of him last year.
Played in 13 games. Started two. 15 tackles. 2 fumble recoveries. Not a great player. A Herminator whiff on this draft pick.
on the flip side of that coin, Morgan knows a lot about our team and offense
and has already passed on whatever he knows to his captors

Come back, Jason!
hi, Mo! 5 minutes!!!
That's ok, we have Lilja
and he was more involved with their offense than Morgan was with our defense.

Maybe so...
Seeing as how he could never even break into being a backup, and he’s very athletic, one can pretty safely assume that his problem was his understanding of our system.
Still, it’s something to take into consideration. We’ll need to throw a few things at him that look like what he saw in practice but turn out much differently.
I love my wife, my kids, and the Chiefs. In that order. Except on game days.
